cronk wouldn’t run a ****ing crash play to Angus when we had a 2 man advantage on their line. He’d have taken advantage of the numbers and set up an easy try down the flanks. Souths wouldn’t have had the opportunity to dominate possession if we had an actual half out there.

Keary and Walker take the full blame for last night to me. Their play calling when we had the man advantage was embarrassing

We need to be cut throat and make the tough calls. Let's be honest, Soufs OWN us in all aspects. We will never be anything but a little brother to them. Let's pack up and relocate to Gosford. Make that town our own and grow in an area where we can dominate. We've been squeezed out of Sydney

Other than light training, rehab, psychotherapy and watching the diet, I'd be giving the blokes 3 or 4 months off. If they come back in 2023 a little bit underdone, who cares? It couldn't trigger a season start that was worse than what we went through this year.

Everyone who needs surgery, no matter how minor, gets it done now.

I'm sick of the injuries, I'm sick of the poor discipline, I'm sick of the poor game management and I'm sick of shithouse referees.

You can remedy the first 3, but you can't fix the last one. Focus on what you can change and worry about that other crap later.

        Oh...and sign Isaah Yeo.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

no doubt souths have won the last few ron coote cups, so all credit to them, but one premiership in the last 50 years would be tough to live with. must make their fans bitter

The team needs a quality winger and centre. Momo was a failure during the season and at the end still offered nothing in attack or defence. Billy Smith as our centre saviour is problematic with his injury history ,12 games out of 93 in 4 years. The 'depth' signings of Naquama and Giddardt were of zero value. Early season game losses without keary and then keary again and JWH meant too much effort to win one of the final 2 games. The win over the storm got us into the semis and a rest in round 25 would have preserved Manu and Toops who were both carrying injuries. As Trent often says we need to learn our lessons. Manage all the players health for the big picture.

This thread is about 1 week earlier than last year!

Unlike some, I don't think our premiership window has closed, nor do I think Souths own us, although they have had the better of us for the last 3 years.

Our top team, injury free, next year has the potential to go a long way. I like the style of footy we play and a little older, wiser Walker and Sua'li'i will keep improving.
I think the biggest challenge will be how Brandon Smith gels with the team because him and Radley could be dangerous together - both on and off the field!

                1. Leadership is the big one for me.

We need a stronger leadership group surrounding Teddy.

We saw yesterday that Keary, who it appears to have took over the on-field role, is simply not suited for it.

I would have thought Crichton and Nat Butcher would have been groomed already as two players with almost as much responsbility as Teddy on field.

Nat captained our younger sides to premiership victories in the past and appeared made for captaincy. Crichton has been rumoured to have strong leadership capabilities, although dont know whats happened there as far as giving him more responsibilities.

                2. Another centre

Contrary to popular opinion, I think Suallii should remain on the wing. We need an alternative centre as Momo and Smith are not the answers. Perhaps Gildart has potentiail here?

                3. Another prop who is actually good.

This rules out Baker for one. We have SST gone, and JWH going soon. Someone else is needed to really step up and the play at a level to properly support Collins and Lodge moving forward. Egan is good, just not sure yet on his ceiling. Jury still out on May

The problem is we can’t seem to keep our best team on the park for even one match, it’s become ridiculous..

Fixed it for you. JWH cops 3 weeks and would have missed the grand final. That means despite having the best front row rotation in the comp, it would have meant very little with JWH and Collins both suspended.

Adding that Gus called it saying we had the team to beat the Panthers but he doubted we could play so aggressively and still field our best team when it counted.

Injury luck. If we get it we’ll win the comp. We would’ve won yesterday too if no one got hurt.

Victor Radley needs to grow up. That will be a big help.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.
