The two elimination final winners should be rewarded with a home final in week 2 of the finals against the losers of the qualifying finals in my opinion.

    Week 1 teams 1 / 2 / 5 and 6 have home finals

Teams 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 if they win then have earned the right for a home final within reason in the preliminary final - noting Sydney teams home finals from week 2 will be/should be either Alliance or Accor due to the lack of capacity at suburban grounds- sure Commbank holds 30k

Week 2 - Two elimination final winners host either of the qualifying final losers.

    Thus as above

    Souths vs Sharks at Accor

Raiders vs Eels at GIO stadium

In my other opinion the finals series should be 5 weeks

    Week 3

The Two winners of the qualifying finals play (team that finished higher during the regular season hosts the game) - winner to the GF in week 5 and loser to the preliminary final in week 4

People also talk about the second chance you get by finishing in the top 4 if you lose in week 1 (qualifying finals) but if you win the first week you don't get that second chance in week 3 if you lose - your eliminated.

That club can't spell integrity let alone does it have any. They agreed to stay acknowledging that the stadium wouldn't be reinvented, than they try and use that as an excuse to get out of a contract when something better comes up. No wonder they try and coax players into breaking contracts, they mean nothing to them.
Many hearty LOLs were had reading that. What an absolute clown. He suits Souffs down to the ground.

Thank you for further highlighting the idiocy of his argument. He also wants parramatta who finished top 4 to lose home ground advantage and play no home games and play away to the team finishing 8th.

The advantage has to go with the higher placed teams not who won the week before.

Another one of my options is to have divisions when say they get to a 20 team comp

Either 5 divisions of 4 teams or 4 divisions of 5 teams

Finals if 5 divisions of 4 teams - 22 rounds (play each team once and teams in your division twice) - 10 team finals series

Division winners qualify for the finals and are ranked from 1 to 5 on their comp points

Finals places 6 to 10 are the next best 5 teams ( comp points wise) from any of the 5 divisions

Ten team final series - same as in 1998.

            1 - Brisbane/Cowboys/Titans/Dolphins
            2- Knights/ Sea Eagles/Warriors/2nd NZ
            3- Roosters/Souths/Sharks/Dragons
            4- Eels/Tigers/Dogs/Panthers
            5- Raiders/Storm/Adelaide/Perth

Finals if 4 divisions of 5 teams - 23 rounds (Play each team once and teams in your division twice) - 10 team finals series

Division winners qualify for the finals and are rankled from 1 to 4 based on their comp points

Division runners up qualify for the finals and are ranked from 5 to 8 based on their comp points

Finals places 9 and 10 decided by wild card play off games between the 4 - 3rd place division sides with the two winners qualifying for the finals - their place at 9 or 10 decided by their comp points.

Ten team final series - same as in 1998

            1 - Brisbane/Cowboys/Titans/Dolphins/Knights
            2- Roosters/Souths/Sharks/Dragons/Perth
            3- Eels/Tigers/Dogs/Panthers/Adelaide
            4- Raiders/Storm/Sea Eagles/Warriors/2nd NZ

The less weeks than the current comp could be utilised by either standalone SOO games / pre-season comp etc

If they keep adding teams you will get an even more unwieldy comp than you have now plus next season - having 2 conferences if moving to 18 teams or 4 or 5 divisions if moving to 20 teams must be seriously considered

cronulla are the higher finishing team so it's got nothing to do with souths.
the only objection i'd have to souths playing out of allianz regularly is the effect it might have on the playing surface. our commitment to the area is beyond question greater than theirs and them playing there wouldn't affect that - and the advantage is that you'd have two games every year v them at the ground

Let Souths in, who knows what draw they would get.
All the good time slots? on all the good days?
They would become the premier team out of Allianz with Roosters relegated to second best?
Keep them out at all costs...sure seems like a good idea.

Also...yes, 3 teams playing on the surface are enough.
4 teams would be too many.
If I were facing an election soon I'd be announcing a major upgrade to Accor Stadium.

GF will be Canberra v Penrith/Souths.

problems with the surface is my concern. don't see how them playing at allianz would affect the draw - those same pressures exist whether they were playing at allianz or at homebush. but my main feeling is that this anti-souths thing is beyond a joke. where's it getting us?

The Chooks are a powerhouse club & so are Souths. The Chooks will never be second best whilst they have smart minds at the top.
They will both continue to be strong clubs & its great for Rugba League.

BB, you've been to the stadium have you not? Does it not say "Home of the Sydney Roosters?"

It may be a case of delaying the inevitable though since Souths contract to play at Accor /Olympic Stadium expires in 2030.

People may have forgotten that Alliance is also the home of Sydney FC and NSW Waratah's - sure different sports but the use of Alliance is not exclusive to the Roosters

Been a boring first half, neither side deserving of playing on our home ground.

Can someone call up Victor and see if he can head down there for the 2nd half to spice it up a bit. Feels like pre-season not finals footy.

Are Cronulla the worst 2nd placed finals side of all time?

                                Even Souffs are very average.

Just makes last week even more infuriating.
