That wasn’t the case on the weekend
There’s a theory in American sports you might be aware of… the six-shooter theory
Basically a coach has a limited amount of times he can go off with very good effect before everyone just tunes out
Trent has laid down the law before… everyone admired him for it and with good reason. Considering the fiasco that had just unfolded Sunday night was the time for him to step up again… but he’d rather play the disingenuous statesman at the expense of his own club
He’s been doing quite a bit of that lately
I find it very poor leadership on his behalf

Im really hoping the Sharks win but I think Souths will be too strong.
Just for you mate I’ll let you know in order who I would like to see win the comp.
1 Parra because it’s been so long long since they have won a comp.
2 Sharkies because I like Fitzy, Hynes & Finucane.
3 Canberra because I like Ricky.
4 Cowboys because Todd Payten has done a magnificent job with that team.
5 Souths because the 4 before them deserve it more but it wouldn’t worry me if they won the comp, it would be good to see Latrell holding the trophy up.
6 Penrith because I don’t want them to go back to back but they are an unreal footy team.
Have a good night.

Being mealy mouthed and not calling out the obvious injustice doesn’t help the club in anyway… in fact it hurts it going forward because we’re being painted as most culpable for the circus that transpired
Yep Tom Burgess should have at least been binned for the high tackle- no he didn't deliberately try to take him out. Burgess always sails close to the wind.....as does JWH. Both have ended up copping a suspension out of the game.
Yes they did try and milk penalties. Today Latrell has come out and said he doesn't. It was all there for everyone to see- if that's the player he has become and wants to add being a liar on top of it, then so be it- his problem

I don’t fault any of the players yesterday… it was a valiant effort against insurmountable odds… partly due to bad luck… partly due to egregious foul play from our opponents that went unpunished.
The sin bin means absolutely nothing these days when your best player is illegally taken out… and Burgess didn’t even get binned for it! In fact he was allowed to immediately try and knock out another one of our players the very next set… can you blame him?
So the referees obviously didn’t defend our players… I think all Roosters fans should be well used to that by now…
You make perfect sense with what you are saying, which is:
i) Foul play from our opponents that went unpunished
ii) The bin means nothing when you target the best players on the field, and take them out.
ii) The referees don't defend our players.
I don't even know if the keyboard warriors on this forum have ever played football or been in a fight, but let me tell you , if you cop a good shot, you are basically F#cked for the rest of the game.
Those who say JWH and Radley "lost their heads" - that's why we lost - have no clue.
And the other story - we had 13 on their 11 , couldn't take advantage of it.
Half our team wouldn't have been able to walk straight, let alone play football, after the bashing they copped - no wonder we did nothing with 13 on 11.
Souffs belted us off the park, and it wasn't through playing football.
Good luck to Souffs- they know what they are doing.
How do the Roosters combat this - next time we play Souffs?
Turn the other cheek?
Pretend it didn't happen?
Hope that it doesn't happen again, that Latrell doesn't smash Joey's face, or Souffs go easy on illegal high tackles?
Expect (or hope) that Klein and the NRL protect our players, ?.
Plan on playing enterprising football and think you will win?
Play the game fairly, and having the right moral compass, knowing this is the right thing?
Any other solutions on offer?
Anybody?
Does anyone think that the magic fairy will appear, wave the magic wand, and all our troubles will disappear, and we will beat souffs?
How about I offer one solution - that is in complete contrast to those who think JWH and Radley "lose their heads"
Go out with aggression, and at the first hint of foul play , retaliate by all means (fair and foul)
Expect the game to be a farce- its going to be a brawl, like it always is- don't expect anything else
Go out and win the fight at all costs.
(That is of course, unless you think your players aren't up to the fight)
It does not matter if you lose the game, or cop suspensions, if the fight is on (I have no doubt it will be on) just ensure you win the fight.
Maybe then, your team will be in the right headspace to win the title.
Maybe then , the team will earn some respect, for not being pushovers.
Maybe then, the hospital visits and dog shots will disappear.
Maybe then, our team won't be regarded as pussies, who cop shit, and buckle at the the first sign of trouble.
Because that's what everyone thinks of our team..
Unfortunately, that's where I think our side is, at the moment, after 2 almighty bashings at the hands of the scum.
.
Then again, you might just wait for the fairy godmother to appear , or for miracles to happen, to get rid of your troubles.
But I don't really like your chances of that occurring..

You can easily sit back in games & predict when these two will do something to affect the team in a negative way.

I am completely over JWH and to a lesser degree Rads, how dumb, this is a professional sport, no space for revenge just do what you have to do to win.
I have said before, forget this crusade about not staying down, we should have been on the band wagon.
As soon as we lost Teddy we were stuffed with no Manu. Again just too many injuries.
We need Lodge for next year, JWH will be out most of the season suspended.
I truly believed we could win this year, what could have been. Injuries killed us again.
Our window may close next year, we will have a real chance if we don’t have crucial injuries.
I didn’t get to watch the game as I was watching the Maitland Pickers win the Newcastle comp at Hunter Stadium. Can’t bring myself to watch it.
So disappointed and frustrated with the game, more than I ever have been.

Some of the incidents in which Roosters have been taken out in the past few seasons while the Officials "call play on, nothing to see here" have been mind boggling. Don't forget Klein was OK with Mitchell caving in Joeys face previously.
