If you want to see what a dogs breakfast looks like, go back and watch a replay of the 2000 Prelim Final between us and the Knights again
Well there is no way I could cop that kinda call against us in a GF. When the bunker scrutinise everything else then why not forward passes during a try scoring opportunity?

    • I'd much prefer a forward ball called play on, then a good ball leading to a try denied. They're the ones I hate.

      • 1. A lot of rugby League fans often call for the bunker/technology to be ditched altogether.

        2. At the same time, fans call for more bunker involvement when it suits.

What do the conflicting statements above tell you? That point 1 is actually a bad idea: Fans think having no bunker is a great idea when in reality, they wouldn't be able to deal with having bad calls and no bunker review.

The ongoing reaction to the (no) forward pass call shows that most people can't accept questionable calls, and will always prefer a video review in the age of technology.

And that's what was happening when they were reviewing forward passes in the past. There were legitimate tries being chalked off as much as there forward passes being pulled up

I don’t recall the bunker ever being able to rule in forward passes?

            • Yes the forward pass was a shocker but as Payten conceded (surprisingly given his penchant for whinging), they actually overcame that to lead 20-12 at one stage, early in the second half. It was not the forward pass which cost them the game. At 20-12 up they should have gone on to win that game as they were playing at home in their hot, humid conditions, with a parochial crowd supporting them, after having had the week off.

Way too much bunker in the game imo. It needs to be wound right back to officiate only on tries. Should they be able to rule on forward passes though that end with a try - probably yes but only on very obvious one imo. If marginal or should be let go.

100% correct. The NRL cant win either way with fans & media.

                  • not calling the forward pass was a shocker but the cowboys should have defended it better

Yeah I agree. Pull back the bunker involvement for other areas. But use them for forwards passes in try scoring situations

FINALLY...they send a player off for a head high tackle.
Milne...was he the one who flattened Suaalii?

That was very bad...it looked pretty much like he meant it too. They were gone and he just wanted to iron someone out.

The flattened player might not be able to play in the GF, depending.
He was going to get stuck into Milne off the field if allowed to.
Milne should be sent straight to the judiciary, and get a 10 match suspension.

They rattled our cages big time. They completely outfoxed and out gamed us.

What an idiotic performance from us.
