  • What's the bet?

I'll put money on us being given yet another shithouse draw next year. It'll be Melbourne twice (though they might be easier in 2023 than 2022), Souffs twice, Pemriff twice and Parramatta twice. We'll probably only get Balmain, Bulldogs and the Dolphins once.

And we'll get the toughest teams immediately after SOO.

I don't care about the rest.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I thought this was going to be a racing tips thread.

    Channel 9 sets the draw.

We’re always going to cop this draw because of who we are. Fans and TV companies that pay a lot of money want to watch these big fixtures.

Ultimately it was our early season results against the plebs (Knights, Dogs, Saints, Raiders) that killed us anyway.

Yes it would be lovely to face the Tigers, Titans and Warriors etc twice but I’d wager our draw won’t be significantly harder than the fixtures the likes of Penrith, Souffffs and Melbourne will face

I don’t care what the draw is. We just need to win as much a possible and I believe we can.

As long as souffs are not allowed to behead their way through the comp and lay down to give the bunker a woody, anything else is fair game.

Agreed mate. The NRL can't predict how the season's gonna be so I see little point complaining about it.

Our key losses this year were to the Merge, Knights and Bulldogs. That was on us and it doesn't matter what the draw is... if you can't shut-out the lesser teams, you're gonna pay for it.

Teams get a preference of who they would like to play in a home and away season, and the draw then tries to accomodate that, the roosters would put in a preference of which teams will draw a better crowd to their home games, so no doubt they will want to play Souths, dragons, storm, panthers and parra who will bring in more interest than playing the tigers, titans, raiders and so on.

other teams will put roosters as a preference also for the same reason.

if you look back to the first 10 rounds of the comp, we had an absolute dream draw where we easily could have been sitting at 8-2, but ended up 5-5.

Considering who we lost against I’d rather face all the top teams twice because of we want to win it all we will have to face then in the finals, what we need is a bit of luck in the injury front we were decimated on the weekend.

We have the squad to win it just need some Lady Luck it’s going to be a long off season.

Stay positive we’re in the race every year.

              GO EASTS!

Lets be quite clear about something, it is not a draw. Its is fabricated and not drawn out of a hat which is where the term draw came from. The NRL needs to stop refering to the schedule of matches as a draw and address it by its true nomenclature , The Fix. its on baby , its on!

Politis has a name for it as he rejected that it's actually a 'draw'. Forget what he called it on Roosters Radio, but he said that it's driven by external forces such as media coverage.

The only sure thing for next years draw is that they cant wait for the Roosters v Vermin, then in the week leading up to the game they will play up the hate between the clubs, start every sentence with "the games oldest rivalry", do countless tv clips on the hate between the clubs and the fans, the dislike between the players, will show countless clips of the blowups in last weeks semi ............. and then get all high and mighty from their soapbox when the game blows up and players do their tempers and the game descends into illegalities with the players ending up in the bin, on report and facing judiciary punishments !

You mean to say that the media outlet owned by James Packer, a known souffs wanka, has influence over the draw???? And the NRL claims to be unbias

I don't think Packer has anything to do with Channel 9 anymore

The 'fix' is always on where our lot are concerned.

Yet, year after year, we bend over and take it.
