Cos he had a gun side about 20 years ago? Or maybe it’s way he kicks chairs around on the sideline. That’s usually pretty effective.

20 years on I reckon Ricky still belts his pillow some nights wondering how on earth he lost those two grand finals to the Bulldogs and Panthers

You have to give him some credit as a coach though… just when you think he’s well and truly cooked he resurrects himself

Yep fair play I thought he was done earlier this year.

They’ve had a good draw but they also lost their hooker first game and had no halfback for half a season.

I think they’re a great chance to make the GF from here

Only a few weeks till we have to have our annual 100 Sattler replays — the one time in Roosters history I wish the ball went to Chris Walker

The only reason Stuart won the 2002 GF is the work Gus and Muppet did before him, much the same as Gus has done for Penrith now. My grandmother would have got the side home in 2002.

Part of the reason that Ricky won in 2002 was the work done by Gould and Murray in previous years but Ricky did a great job with those boys - toughening them up and giving them belief that they were the fittest most aggressive team in the comp, amongst a lot of other things I'm sure.

I doubt Gran would have got the job done mate. In 2001 we finished 6th and got bundled out week 1 by a flogging 40-6 to Newcastle - then Ricky took over in 2002 and we won and made three GFs in a row.

BTW Muppet Murray is an ex Easts player Mark Murray - our coach in 2000/2001 was Graham Murray RIP

He is probably still blaming Brett Finch.

I blame the video ref for 2004. That El Masri try is the most obvious double movement of all time
