Radley is fine… this whole idea that your lock has to be some brilliant playmaker is well over rated

The benchmark… Yeo… is a very solid and very reliable second receiver but he’s hardly Magic Johnson on the fast break
Sorry? Who says Murray isn’t tougher then radley? He’s been playing on with concussion issues himself like radley, he got absolutely smoked by Jazza the other weekend and he played on. Ended up making a linebreak at the end of the game too, so I contest this theory about rads being “ tougher “.

I agree about them being different players though, radley lacks the footwork and speed that murray has so he has to take it up more often then not whereas murray can offer that along with a freaking offload and ballplaying too… has radley ever had a offload in him?

      Has Murray ever smoked someone?

Didn’t say Murray was lacking in toughness… nor indeed that Radley was lacking in skill. Was simply contrasting the two… different players… horses for courses

Again Radley is fine… pound for pound probably the hardest man in the NRL and a pretty good ball player as well. We’re a better team with him in the side

Not saying he is the best… but not interested in swapping him for someone else either

Unfortunately, it’s daylight between him and Murray now. The last two seasons for Victor has been very disappointing.

I love Rads but what does be have to do to get back on par with Murray.

In my opinion he needs to decide what kind of player he wants to be. He either needs to be a hard hitting enforcer or a ball playing back rower. He’s struggling to keep up with both roles.

The introduction of Brandon Smith in 2023 will take the pressure of Rads for his enforcer role, allowing him to do more with the ball. We’ve all seen our go forward when his attack is on song.

I never want to see him pull back on his ‘inflictor’ role, but I do think he needs to model his game more on the way Murray is currently playing. It will add so much more value to the team.

BTW, I wouldn’t trade Victor for anyone, but he does need to change his game if he truely wants to get to the next level.
I agree, you make some very valid points. Victor has the potential to be better than Murray!!

In 2020 when we came back from that first Covid break, Radley was the form player in the comp and it wasn't even close. Forget Murray, he was ahead of them all. He then did his knee and he just hasn't hit his straps consistently since then.

For mine, he needs to find the balance between his running and passing game. Both are elite when on, but I feel he needs a run first mentality and the rest will flow from that. His leg speed and footwork are equal to Murray when he does that and only his play the ball is inferior. Also, his interplay with that new halves combo hasn't really clicked yet...hopefully that can further develop further next year.

End of the day, I see that Radley has a higher ceiling than Murray. As good as Murray is I think Radley can be better. And yep, mentally there is some work to do and it'll come...I understand he's made some decent strides off the field and that'll translate on field.

Remember, his performance in that last 20 minutes of the 2019 GF was as good as you'd ever see in 115 years of this game. It was incredible and only a special kid could deliver what he produced that night.

Radley & Murray are both good players.
Who is currently better, in my mind, comes down to the one that pulls on the next premiership ring.
I know its a team sport, but what either one of them does , will have a huge impact on whether the next title comes the Roosters way, or goes to Souffs.

Radley is a liability at present either suspended sin binned or injured. He needs to grow up and start taking responsibility for letting his team down constantly. If the chooks had Murray or Yeo we could easily win the comp. I doubt we can win again with Radley and JWH

Has Murray ever stopped Olam when that player was 1 metre out from the tryline?

Lol…pretty boy Murray is good but I’m getting tired of the love fest fir him on Foxtel and Nine. They go on about his quick play the balls but if he was actually made to play the ball properly it might wipe a few seconds off his so-called speed.

Radley can be better than what he is if he improved his mind and discipline - the other player well let that teams supporters talk about him on their site.

Rads vs Hutch would currently be more accurate …

Murray for the last 2 seasons has played better footy than Rads but Rads has been injured & suspended during that time.
If I had to pick between them I would pick Rads because he plays it harder.

My God. Other forwards would dread having to come up against Jared and Victor. Both are champion Roosters and amongst the most dominant forwards in the comp. And you're suggesting they're liabilities? Just when you think you've heard it all.

Yes he has 100%. I’ve seen him pull off some great one on ones.

2020… you mean when we played them first match back and although we won Murray scored a try, set up a try and a linebreak?

This ongoing comparison between the two is just silly. There is a reason why Victor chose England.

Really? I watch quite a bit of league on the punt… can’t say I’ve ever seen Murray lay someone out

Radley on the other hand is a different story… they don’t call him the Inflictor just because it rhymes with his name… a fearsome defender
