      Hard not to be happy

interesting perspective they had on the reffing in the Storm game

Gosh the comp is even this year, Broncos have surprised me but probably no one else by not even missing Locky

I noticed all last year that Lockyer took a backseat to Wallace for the most part so I think he matured under Lockyer's tutelage.

They'll be found out in the back half of the season when the best teams start to pull their games together. Griffin has them hardened and playing at their peak, I can't see them going to another level they lack that classy player in the spine to take them there.

The Wankos have really surprised me also. The one side I really thought would struggle but so far look like they've actually improved without Lockhead.

That coach looks the goods, maybe we should buy him???

              The FlogPen .

              You know it makes sense.

                Not me, backwards.
I made the comment late last year that their young squad was coming along nicely.
That was confirmed to me by someone at the Tits, at the time. He said to watch them in 2013 because he thought that they would be the dark horse (no pun) of the comp. They have had a lot of young players coming through & is about to pay dividends.
I am hoping that our club stays with the youth policy & follows.

                  Agreed mate.

The youth policy is a good one IMO. It's something we've never tried, we've always really gone the other way.

I see what the Wankos have done the last few seasons now, short term pain for long term gain.

It's what we should've done preparing for Freddos retirement. Instead we let all our good kids go.

I hope we continue with what we are doing, although I gather a lot of our fans here have zero patience and can't see the forest thru the trees. I think that's the cliche I'm after, lol.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by Brisbane. When have they ever fielded a dud side?

They will be very hard to beat again this year.

A lot of that has to do with the area that they draw players from. Half their luck :/
Will be interesting to see how the whole Titans affair pans out. Lots of talk of the donkeys buying out part or whole of the venture.

Seriously, what would they do with it once they bought it?

                        Merge?

and p s where the fk is Mick Searle, he loved all the good press and now he has disappeared when things go tits up leaving the players and coach to carry the can

                            Wondered about that myself.

1st prolly get rid of the Centre & Tit Bar.
Concentrate on the League & get an actual club house that can make another stream of revenue (which they currently don't have).
The Gold Coast has shown early on that they would support a team, but at realistic ticket prices.
Remember seeing the seeing crowd the figures from a few years ago & they were very good. Only a shadow of that now compared to what other clubs are doing.

Who knows what will happen, but the NRL need to save a team here on the Coast, or lose even more fans to other codes....and do it quick.

Enjoying the $16 mil portfolio he has apparently amassed in a relative short period of time?
