NRLW is an excellent competition in the sense that it has some genuine skill in it and is very tough and physical. An added bonus, particularly in our team, that there are some absolute cracking sorts in it aswell. Obviously it isn't the same importance as the NRL but good on the club for getting behind it.
Plus it’s doing heaps for junior women’s rugby league. I’m only in my mid 20’s and when I played junior footy 10 years ago you’d have the odd girl on another team or something but that was about it. I got a friend whose younger brother is doing rather well and their team took 5-6 women’s teams to a junior carnival a couple weeks ago, so the rewards are being and will continue to be reapt.

In saying that the women’s game needs to learn the men’s game wasn’t professional for 80-90 years, and it was a long hard slog for all involved for the players to get their fair wages. The advantage the woman’s game has is that it can piggy back off the man’s game to speed up that process, but it still needs to respect its own competitions growth so that it doesn’t fizzle out too quickly. And also respecting that the men’s game was selling out stadiums and having big tv audiences well before they got their just reward.

It is amazing how many men are insecure about women playing sport but they are mostly old men who believe women belong in the kitchen and that equal rights between men and women is a woke agenda but thankfully you people are a minority and are being left behind to cry on facebook about the woke agenda that doesn't exist.

I can’t stand how this product gets promoted over NSW Cup which is much harder and better standard.

I also don’t want to receive these emails as if it were the real Roosters.

I wish the girls well and I hope they win in our jersey but really I couldn’t give a rats arse.
The NSW Cup grand final can’t even get a spot on free to air or pay tv. I watched the Bears final stream with 2,000 other people.

Time to let the nostalgia die, the fans have voted with their engagement.

I loved going to Henson Park and I’ll always watch our junior/reserve grade levels if given the opportunity but the game is no where near as appealing as the women’s game at the moment.

Maybe not as appealing as the women’s game as it gets nowhere near as much promotion as the women’s game. I’d much rather watch men play in a much faster and more brutal game.

At what point will you just shut up and not watch women’s football in silence instead of telling people you’re not watching it like anybody cares what you do or don’t watch?

Unfortunately those of us who enjoy watching the NSW cup are in a very small minority these days.

Like I said I watched the Bears finals game on the NSWRL free stream and it peaked at about 2,000 viewers. The WNRL was averaging 200,000+ viewers in their most recent season to date. That’s 100x multiplier in engagement.

You really think it’s just about promotion? Are you really that blinded?

How can you compare? Look at all the coverage that the girls get compared to reserve grade. Plus they play in the colours of first grade teams unlike most of the reserve grade teams so they have ready made supporters. Are you really that stupid?

Little girls turn into big girls...now the big girls can continue to play the game too, same as the boys.

Female NRL teams have a right to exist.
Roosters women's team has a right to exist...and our club has the right to promote our women's team at every opportunity, including by email...and should be praised for doing so, not criticised.

People can't help what they're born like.
People don't get to choose what number on the beauty scale they are dealt.
People have to do the best with what they get in the birth lottery.

Yes, the world worships beauty, always has, always will... and people born beautiful do have an advantage in life, most of the time.
If I'd been born tall, handsome, rich, and with a high IQ, I would've had a better and easier life. Ditto most people.

You've got it the wrong way around, the Men's reserve grade sides stopped wearing the club colours because there was a lack of interest which made it too expensive to run. Not there's a lack of interest because they don't wear the club colours.

If anything there's evidence we should move away from club colours and copy the far more lucrative and successful QLD Cup.

You are right when you say it is not an equal comparison. The NSW Cup is a century old competition with established frameworks and infrastructure. Fed by junior leagues that have been establish for decades. They have talent on full time contracts earning salaries that far exceed what the WNRL players earn and are kept alive by leagues clubs who are fulfilling their tax obligations by investing their gambling profits back into the community.

It shouldn't be a fair comparison but despite all that the WNRL garners far more interest in tv ratings, they have individuals with significantly larger followings than anyone in the NSW Cup, they attract significant corporate dollars and they are bringing a new fan to the game which is opening new doors for the game with corporate partnerships.

I love watching the NSW Cup, since the begining on here I've posted a lot of content to do with the Jets, Roos and Bears but I've also got enough self-awareness to realise I'm in the minority. Not that many people enjoy it.

I appreciate you don't enjoy seeing women beat each other up as you say, which is odd given how much you beat up on their game. But the denial of the facts and this delusional agenda that the NSW Cup is so intersting and being opressed by the marketing dollars of the NRLW is just delusional.

The idiot in the blue shirt has daughters doesn't he? how sad that they have to grow up with a "father" that has such negative views towards women
