I largely agree with SamKerrSimp that NRLW is a great initiative and our club have done well to get behind it and our team is very good. I don't agree that you need to like it and if you point out its shortfalls that you are automatically a sexist which is what a lot of people are implying. Let people have their own opinions.
I know what you are saying and I agree. A bit of a low act attacking a person because he has his own differing view. But that is today's world.
But my guess is that Thirteen would probably laugh at the comment having got under his skin.
Personally I don't mind watching the women play. And I admit there is some good eye candy

I also don’t want to receive these emails as if it were the real Roosters.

I wish the girls well and I hope they win in our jersey but really I couldn’t give a rats arse.
You made a statement saying that you support the club though?

Yes I do but that doesn’t mean I’ll be on board with everything they do.

          To correct you

The NRL solely determines the length of the NRLW season and not the clubs and certainly not the players who would love to play more games.

NRLW Contracts are 3 months duration and at the end of every NRLW season all players are off contract.

The Salary cap is 350k for 24 players - development contract players are not paid but still do all the training and attend games etc- Minimum contracts are 10k

The players are very much part time holding down full time jobs outside of their football commitments and their jobs do not always enable them to attend training the 3 times a week they train - a number of the Roosters NRLW players were on individual training programs for instance.

Still no CBA for NRLW or NRL - NRLW players being all off contract cannot sign any contracts or Clubs sign any players until this is signed off including knowing when the comp will start/how long it will go for and what the salary cap will be noting they have a player points allocation and a 130 point squad allocation to fit players into and the NRLW comp in 2023 will be a 10 team comp.

The Players union need to pull their fingers out and get the NRLW players a more than decent CBA outcome going forward as the NRLW comp will continue expanding- Bulldogs/Souths/Storm/Penrith chomping at the bit to enter a side as early as 2024.

Manly for the first time will have a Women's Tarsha Gale under 19's side in 2023.

The Warriors will re-enter the NRLW comp having pulled out due to Covid/Travel Restrictions and the Dolphins are on track to enter a side as well.

So won't be long before it's a 17 team comp and a professional one at that

The Blue Shirt one as you call him hides behind feeble excuses why he doesn't like NRLW but one can see right through these though and oh he supports the club he says - yeh sure he does - just the NRL though - It's not surprising that there are still people around with 19th century or earlier views of Women.

I don't think Nick Politis or Robbo would be backing NRLW if they didn't see it has a future.

If anything there's evidence we should move away from club colours and copy the far more lucrative and successful QLD Cup.

You are right when you say it is not an equal comparison. The NSW Cup is a century old competition with established frameworks and infrastructure. Fed by junior leagues that have been establish for decades. They have talent on full time contracts earning salaries that far exceed what the WNRL players earn and are kept alive by leagues clubs who are fulfilling their tax obligations by investing their gambling profits back into the community.

It shouldn't be a fair comparison but despite all that the WNRL garners far more interest in tv ratings, they have individuals with significantly larger followings than anyone in the NSW Cup, they attract significant corporate dollars and they are bringing a new fan to the game which is opening new doors for the game with corporate partnerships.

I love watching the NSW Cup, since the begining on here I've posted a lot of content to do with the Jets, Roos and Bears but I've also got enough self-awareness to realise I'm in the minority. Not that many people enjoy it.

I appreciate you don't enjoy seeing women beat each other up as you say, which is odd given how much you beat up on their game. But the denial of the facts and this delusional agenda that the NSW Cup is so intersting and being opressed by the marketing dollars of the NRLW is just delusional.
Even when it was 3 grades on the one day - under 23's and it's various age groups (21's) and Reserve Grade there were not a lot of people at the grounds until around half time or so of the reserve grade game.

There is and has not been any surge of interest in reserve grade and the viewing numbers show this as do the crowd numbers at the grounds and even when 3 grades on the one day as I mentioned above.

I watch a lot of the games on the NSWRL Facebook and there are more viewers watching the Junior Rep games than Jersey Flegg and Reserve Grade

Some people just can't grasp the concept that the NRLW comp will eventually be a 17 team professional comp.

The NRL have naught to do with the marketing of the state based comps that is the job of the NSWRL and QRL

Maybe Nick and Robbo do like women footy but if they didn’t they would hardly come out publicly and say so.

If robbo didn’t like the woman’s game I’m sure he wouldn’t be attending their training sessions ( last year I believe ) to assist and has also openly said he is open to helping in anyway we can.

No one was forcing him to fulfil those duties.

                      Poor example.

                        Meh. NRLW. Enough.

I'm a man, and I like watching men play the same sport I played. I've got limited free time, and sorry to say, it doesn't get invested in womens sport at all. I don't identify with them in any way.

Good luck to 'em, but it's not for me.

Oh and regarding NRLW emails, the delete button is less than a 1 inch thumb stretch away, and I use it liberally.

Great post Mickey. Certain NRLW supporters on here are like vegans. They just love to force their views into others and try to change the world to their way of thinking. When they fail, the resort to name calling and abuse. Returning serve is part of the game and if you don’t hit back, you lose a piont and possibly the match.
