  • Anasta hints a multiple key position signing's

below is taken from an interview Anasta did with the telucrap

"AS much as Anasta wanted to remain at the Roosters, the off-contract five-eighth knew in November his days were numbered - the moment the club signed New Zealand Warriors pivot James Maloney for the 2013 season.

"I'd been talking to the club on a regular basis for a quite a while and not getting any real clear answers," Anasta said.

"They'd signed a few guys in key positions, so you don't need to be Einstein to work it out. I understand how it works, so as the months went on, I became more comfortable with it. I accepted it.

"Yes, it was devastating, but when one door closes another one opens.

    "I'm fine with it now.

"I don't have this hanging over my head any more. I don't have to play each week not knowing where your future is, I can just commit myself to playing football week in, week out."

will be interesting to hear who these key position players are, whether it just SBW or a fullback as well, Ryles pretty much said the same thing a couple of weeks ago.

Did you see anasta's exchange with Maloney when Maloney kicked deep on the 6th and went dead? About 20 th minute. Laughs and smiles from both.

Yeah, we all know Anasta is a great guy. But he's not a great...or even good player.

I saw it and he was at it all night. It's a shame it takes him signing for another club to have a decent game.

I think he was referring to Mortimer as well as Maloney

Do you think he should stand down as captain, he played ok last night, i think it would be better for both him and the club as a whole to put him in the back row, or off the bench, and let him concentrate on running the ball, not trying to organise.

Personally I think some of the things people have been saying on here about signings just might be on the money.

Maubs for captain. He is freaking awesome. Our best player. NSW will come knocking for him soon.

Agree Princess. For someone who does not look particularly quick, he seems to have a great step and swerve and caused NZ nightmares last night. And he is a back rower! Great player.
