  • Roosters to Make History in PDRL Grand Final

The Sydney Roosters Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) have defied the odds to qualify for their first-ever Grand Final - and the chance to add to the Club's trophy cabinet.

Following an intense victory over Wests, the Tricolours will face South Sydney in the decider this Sunday at New Era Stadium at Cabramatta at 11:45 for the NSWPDRL Premiership.

I know how proud the Roosters are as a Club, and how historic they are, so to wear the jersey and possibly win a Grand Final as a Rooster and to be able to do it with a group of boys that I have with me at the moment is very special.

I missed the email that this team existed.
              Best of luck to them.

Only 10 players in the photo.

PDRL, is played on a 50m X 100m pitch and is a nine-a-side version of Rugby League. Teams include a minimum of seven physically disabled players and two non-disabled players who act as facilitators, although this is not a prerequisite, during the game.

The game includes full contact tackles, but players who have a disability that restricts them from safely playing full contact are permitted to play Touch RL tackle rules. On the field these players are identified by wearing red shorts. There is a maximum of two physically disabled players on the field of play at any one-time playing Touch RL rules.

                    Each game lasts 50 minutes (25 x 2 halves).

I'm not sure they consider themselves victims.
