  • Dally M's.... Amateur Hour

I tried to watch it, but had to turn it off when they were going through the Men's AND the Women's awards, and the presenters didn't have a clue what they were doing. The biggest awards night in a billion dollar sport, and they stuff it up with all the woke bullshit. Get some professional presenters for farks sake. and heaven forbid we could have any night without the carry-on of tugging our forelocks to the traditional owners.

It used to be better when they spent more time going through which players polled votes each round.
It seemed so rushed this year because of all of the other garbage added in.

I actually didn’t mind it though.

Well done to Suallii, Manu and Teddy for taking out awards in their positions. Teddy unlucky not to win the Dally M.

Oh and our our girls Isabelle Kelly for captain and Raecene for NRLW dally M player of the year.

Thought Todd Payten’s speech was annoying and over the top. Seriously can’t stand the bloke

Hopefully the good people of Tonga can make Toups their king when he retires.

Gets no recognition for the champion he is.

I knew it's a rort after Momo didn't get one of the best centre awards. Stopped watching after that.

Also welcome to country has it's place but is fast losing its meaning these days after it's total overuse in some settings.

He did get selected for Origin over Addo Carr

I'm just glad Ben Hunt didn't win in it. A borderline top 20 player, and realistically if he was the best player this year, the Dragons wouldn't have finished 10th. All honesty, the two best players this year were Tedesco and Munster (Cleary as well if he wasn't suspended/rested/injured), but will settle for Hynes. Had a great year and is a top 10 player who brought his side to 2nd.

Hynes to win it by that huge margin makes it a joke. Seriously, the guy won't make the Australian team......and is not in the same league as Teddy. The awards favor a standout player in an average team so the voting is skewed. I think Hynes is way over rated.

I agree with you 100%. Sharks had a very easy draw. Especially in the second half of the season. If they had to play top 8 teams in the last 4 games instead of cellar dwellers then they wouldn’t have finished top 4. This was evident when they were bundled out in straight sets come the finals. Also, Hynes was probably the standout player in an average team like you pointed out. No way in the world was he the best player of the year.

As a ex-professional who has run many awards nights (much bigger than DM's) I have to say I was embarrassed. It was beyond amatuer. Poor production values and who ever called the show should go back to school. It reeked of being unrehearsed.. the greatest sin of all.

I do however disagree on Nicho Hyynes. I think he is a champion and would love to have him at the Roosters. He also deserved to win. Teddy has a team of champions around him. Nicho stood out nearly every game for the Sharks. Thats how the Awards are judged and on that basis, right or wrong, he was a deserved winner.

An absolute joke that the women are honoured on the same night as the men, for their 5 games.

Cronulla are so crap there is nobody else worthy of points in their side.

No chance in hell that Nico was better than Teddy this season. Plus they played a lot more game against weaker sides. Teddy was robbed.
