There was a bit of angst about him playing for the Walgett Aboriginal Community (WAC) side instead of his Mob South Taree.hence the booing.

The teams head hunt indigenous NRL and NSW /QLD Cup players to play for their team.

I remember one of the Knockouts one of the teams had 4 indigenous NRL players and 3 NSW Cup players so no surprise they made the Grand final - Surprisingly though they lost to the other team with no Indigenous NRL and NSW Cup players.

I really enjoyed the Koori knockout....especially after the boring NRL GF

Good mix of ages and fitness levels-but the skill they all showed was unreal.

Former Rooster Ben Jones sported a nice size belly but it didn't stop him from scoring the last try in the final. The cameo appearance of George Rose was cool too

In the under 15's game - Blacktown (Penrith) vs La Parouse(Souths) - 1/2 of the players in each team are either in the Riff or Vermin Academies - Cooper Flood for Blacktown ( Prop) is in the Roosters Harold Matthews Cup Squad for 2023.
