  • Corey Allan

SMH reporting that we are considering making a play for Corey Allan for 2023 and if it isn’t him well we are in the market as they reckon we are chasing a outside back to add to the squad. He would provide decent coverage I guess

Think he was building nicely when at the vermin, but stalled a bit at dogs. I think he’s a great pick up at a short price

Played only 3 NRL games for the Dogs in 2022 and it was reported several ESL teams were considering signing him.

Surely some of the youngsters in the Chooks system would be better options - even Tom Carr would be a better option - 195 cm and 96 kgs - 22 tries for the Bears and winger for the NSW Cup team of the year.

Allan in reportedly on 500k at the Dogs and 1 year to go on that contract (2023) so the Dogs would need to pay a fair bit of this contract - the Cap is yet to be determined and in any case the Roosters don't have a lot of wriggle room in the cap as it is

      Sign Dominic Young for 2024

Sydney Roosters off contract players - either no contract for 2023 or able to negotiate with clubs from November 1 2022

There are 12 players off contract and they include Renouf Atoni, Fletcher Baker, Egan Butcher, Drew Hutchison, Adam Keighran, Matt Lodge, Victor Radley, Billy Smith, Daniel Tupou, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Sam Walker. Connor Watson is also listed as being out of contract. - Josepgh Suaalii has player options for 2023 and 2024

He was alright at fullback for souffs, can’t play centre or wing very well though

        Odd signing if it happens

OK with it if he is cheap.

There is not much to be excited about among our NSW cup in the 3/4 line
We do have a lot of money tied up in the 1-5 already.

            Momo is bog average
Smith is perpetually injured, and with 3 ACLs you have to question his future in the game
Gildart I can't comment on as I haven't seen him play.

                He'd cost very little. Yes.

Yes. An improvement over flipper hands Naiqama and Ikuvalu.

Corey looked like he had been in a good paddock at the dogs, his belly looked more suited for the koori knockout. Depending on how much the dogs would pay out to let him go as they overpaid him by a long way. We are short on backs though and our depth in that area really hurt us at the end of the year.

Definitely worth looking at. We need a player that can cover a few positions in the backs.
