In those close games that you say we fluked near the end, I bet if Carney was in the team we would have lost those games too because he would have handed the opposition a try or two with just this type of defence.
I also witnessed his woeful kicking and total lack of interest in being out there. My argument is that if Carney played those last four games, we lose them. So yes, I believe he can be held responsible for most of our woe last year - off -field and on.

Back to the point. There are 13 players on the field. Why single out Carney? How did the players become so dependent on one player? Why weren't they able to perform unless Carney put the game on a platter for them?
You just have to go back to 2007 and 2009 to realise that this team has more serious issues that go beyond any one single player or person at the club. In 2007 how on earth did we go from certain wooden spooners to a premiership threat overnight? and then wooden spooners in 2009? The core of our squad comprises mentally weak and unprofessional players. It has has nothing to do with Carney, Myles, Mason, Finch, Freddy, or whoever else we blame for this year or next year's failures.
The reason I brought up Manly is they are a similar team. It is only the smarts of Hasler in giving unconditional support and camaraderie to the players which has kept them from self-destructing like us. They could have very easily sacked Stewart and it would have been all over for them.

It was more of a counter-point to dice's insinuations that we are only winning ugly without Carney by luck, when in fact the victories are very much the same to the ones that happened in 2010.
You create your own luck.

He was talking about the game in 2010 - not 1910!!!

Of course, Buzz admits he was wrong. What a surprise.
Getting rid of Carney to satisfy the ego of a couple of twits who won't be there in the near future will prove the most idiotic decision we will ever make.
And of course Buzz is gloating.
So would I.
He still can't believe the gift our stupidity has given him.
Maloney is a poor man's Carney and Carney is better than SBW.
We had the diamond in our hands and threw it away.
What a bunch of idiots we are.
All the same wish him all the best at the Sharkies
