I've been a few drinks away from trouble before as well but that doesn't make me an alcoholic and I'd be offended if anyone insinuated I am.

The problem with these incidents is that they generalise and stereotype everyone, not just footballers. The real problem is the fact that these professional sportspeople have money, time and 'privilege' given to them on a platter and the young blokes don't know how to deal with it properly. A bit of an education and perhaps some restraint by the enablers could go a long way.
