Cronk is above Pearce on being a general but dont kid yourselves Pearce gave more to the Roosters physically & mentally.
He wasnt as good as Cronk who played 2 seasons but Pearce gave his all for 10 years. Pearcy was loved by the players & coaching staff because he played it tough & he gave it everything winning a comp.
Pearce & Jake Friend came through together & they both played it tough. Im glad Pearcey played for the Roosters but Im also very glad Cronk played for the Roosters.

No one should question his effort.... he always gave 100%, and sure the players loved him... but he was never a top flight halfback, and always an immature boy..... look at how he fuucked up his relationship.... a trail of stupid episodes. If he had got off the piiss and stopped chasing everything with tits, including paying for it regularly he might have made something as a lock or hooker.

If we all agree on Teddy as the FB, then how do you choose between Mini, Toupo RTS and BMoz on the wing?
Manu is a standout at centre , but Jennings was all class and Fatrell won 2 comps with us and was very powerful. If pressed I’d go with Fatrell with Manu.
Keary or Maloney? I’d pick BBQ mainly for goalkicking.( a contradiction considering I picked Fatrell who’s a very good kicker himself)
Cronk by the length of the straight despite Pearce’s service to the club and I have never questioned his commitment, but Cronk is top shelf halfback.
SST , JWH, Friend, Cordner , Liu, Moa, Radley , Aubusson and SBW are automatics .
Give me that squad at their peak every year and Id be booking GF tickets every year

You don't have to do anything illegal to be not highly thought of.

I suppose a couple of positive was that the Dodgers and Yankees were also both eliminated - Dodges the winningest team in both leagues with 111 wins and 51 losses(.685) and Yankees well are just the Yankees with their excessive payroll - 125 million US- more money than sense in the big apple.

The number of games played increased as more teams were added- started off with a 8 team 70 game season as the National League back in 1876.

1901 they split the 16 teams into two leagues - American and National leagues

In the early 1960's each of the Leagues (American and National ) had 10 teams (No divisions then) so 9 opponents in each league- it was decided teams would play their other league opponents 18 times ( 6 -3 game series - 3 home and 3 away ( - 18 x 9 = 162 games.

They have stuck with that 162 game regular season ever since despite the increase in teams from 20 to now 30 as the regular season runs from April to September - post season now runs into the first week of November - World Series - 6 teams progress to post season in the various leagues - the 3 division winners and the 4th / 5th and 6th teams with the next best records (wild cards)
