Put a team together using a selection from that group of 23 players and you win a comp any year.

If we all agree on Teddy as the FB, then how do you choose between Mini, Toupo RTS and BMoz on the wing?
Manu is a standout at centre , but Jennings was all class and Fatrell won 2 comps with us and was very powerful. If pressed I’d go with Fatrell with Manu.
Keary or Maloney? I’d pick BBQ mainly for goalkicking.( a contradiction considering I picked Fatrell who’s a very good kicker himself)
Cronk by the length of the straight despite Pearce’s service to the club and I have never questioned his commitment, but Cronk is top shelf halfback.
SST , JWH, Friend, Cordner , Liu, Moa, Radley , Aubusson and SBW are automatics .
Give me that squad at their peak every year and Id be booking GF tickets every year

If he had got off the piiss and stopped chasing everything with tits, including paying for it regularly he might have made something as a lock or hooker.

The Braves & Mets in their group this year finished on equal wins & losses & almost an identical home & away win/loss record! That's quiet remarkable considering all the games that are played.

Why do you think he is thought of as a polarising figure amongst Rooster fans.
Nobody thinks that way of Cordner or Aubo for example.

I suppose a couple of positive was that the Dodgers and Yankees were also both eliminated - Dodges the winningest team in both leagues with 111 wins and 51 losses(.685) and Yankees well are just the Yankees with their excessive payroll - 125 million US- more money than sense in the big apple.
The Yankees need George Constanza

1901 they split the 16 teams into two leagues - American and National leagues
In the early 1960's each of the Leagues (American and National ) had 10 teams (No divisions then) so 9 opponents in each league- it was decided teams would play their other league opponents 18 times ( 6 -3 game series - 3 home and 3 away ( - 18 x 9 = 162 games.
They have stuck with that 162 game regular season ever since despite the increase in teams from 20 to now 30 as the regular season runs from April to September - post season now runs into the first week of November - World Series - 6 teams progress to post season in the various leagues - the 3 division winners and the 4th / 5th and 6th teams with the next best records (wild cards)
https://baseballtrainingworld.com/5-...so-many-games/
Up until 1996 teams would only play teams in their league now they have inter league games 20 which will significantly increase in 2023 to 46.
In 2023 All 30 teams will play one another in a season for the first time in the interleague era - teams will either host a three-game series or play a three-game series on the road against every team from the opposite league. - 4 game series against their natural interleague rivals 2 home and 2 away - i.e NY Mets vs NY Yankees / LA Dodgers vs LA Angels / Chicago Cubs vs Chicago White Sox
2023 season schedule - each league has 3 divisions of 5 teams
Division games: There are 52 total games against divisional opponents, down from 76. Teams will play their other 4 division opponents 13 times - 3 -3 game series and one 4 game series against divisional opponents.
Intraleague games: There are 64 total games -- 32 home and 32 away -- against non-divisional league opponents, down from 66. Teams will play six games against six league opponents and seven games against four league opponents. This is a reversal of the previous format, which had six games against four league opponents and seven games against six league opponents.
Interleague games: There are 46 total games against interleague opponents, up from just 20. Teams will play 42 games against other 14 interleague opponents, including seven 3 games series (21 games) at home and seven 3 games series (21 games) on the road and 4 games ( 2 home and 2 away) against their natural Interleague rival
Braves biggest rivals are the NY Mets as both play in the National League East divisionLast edited by King Salvo; 11-01-2022, 08:47 PM.
