  • Not too much to crow about

I watched the game again yesterday morning on FOX.

We only made 3 line breaks and our attack in general was nothing special.

Still plenty of work to do if you ask me.

People creaming their pants over Mini should watch the game again. He was solid, as he has been so far this season, but we really lack another player with the ability to put on tries.

I though Pearce played well. In fact he has been much better this season. He is looking dangerous when running the ball and just needs someone running with him.

I don't know of many on here crowing too much about yesterday. They are just as liable to come ut and drop the ball 15 times and give away 15 penaltys against the Titans.

Mini played well, but still at the minimum level required of a modern day fullback. I hope we go a different option for next year because fullback is so important these days and I dont think Mini will keep that level up.

    Still a champion though.

We should look at this game as a great improvement and a glimpse of the potential this team has !

It is so untapped at this stage of the season it isn't funny !!!

We have a young team that, when they want to, will pull out all stops to get the Roosters the win, i mean you look at out bookends, JWH and Kennedy lead from the front, got us the platform for the likes of pearce to do what he does best, run the ball and set SKD and maubs up all night !

3 line breaks is only light, but they will come, out forwards made the meters we needed to put us in great position and keep the warriors on the back foot.

This year will be full of ups and downs, but by the end of the season, the ups will be more frequent !

We made more than 3 linebreaks, surely

SKD try, Maubs try and the Arona break up the middle in the 1st half would be the 3 they have counted there, although I am sure we made 1-2 in the 2nd half as well, even if they were roped in fairly quickly.

I think the big thing I can take from the last win was the way our guys actually started showing signs of binding as a team.
They tried things & supported each other. The go-forward was the best we have seen in a long time & I actually could see a spine forming up front. Hope it keeps developing.
          Early days, peeps.
3/5....not too shabby if you ask me.

I actually thought it was a very good performance.

Even carney and arona played well.

I just hope that they back it up next week with another similar performance.

We'll always struggle in attack this season Vasco, there's just enough creativity in the spine. But it was still a good performance and imo was close to the kind of performance that we put in that first half against Melbourne where we really pressed them and were right in the game if not for some incompetence from the referees & video ref. It was all about field position and we nailed it, the disappointing thing for me was despite our dominance for the majority of the second half we couldn't put them away with that vital try.

Pearce was great but that's no surprise given the platform layed by Arona, Tasi, Kennedy, Hargeaves & FPN and he had his old combo of Maubs & Skidsy back. There was certainly enough to suggest we should beat the Titans and hopefully we'll continue to build nicely for the Anzac day match that I want to win oh so badly. If we win on Anzac day I'll consider this season a success.

I thought as a team we played pretty good,my only concern going forward is our attack!

We seem to use Mini a few times when we did second phase play but we lacked a little in more consistent attack,i think once we can score more points we can possibly make the 8!

Next year that will be fixed as Pearca and Maloney will give us plenty of oppurtunities to score points,im just worried where it comes from consistently this year ?!

We made 5 line breaks according to the coverage I watched.

Vasco - like yourself I just watched the replay too. The stream I had on Saturday was very poor and thanks to Easter Break I have some free time. I mostly agree with what you said. In the first half we made a few silly errors but luckily the Warriors made more.

However, I was enormously pleased with our second half. I thought the decisions to take the 2 points and build the lead were good. I loved our completion rate. Most of all I loved our defence. When the score got to 18-8 the Warriors had a chance. Our forwards stepped up and smashed the living hell out of them. I thought that was a tremendous effort. I also thought Pearce was very good as was FPN. FPN is so inconsistent but when he plays well he is an absolute beast. Marty Kennedy was just fantastic. He bent the hell out of the line everytime he touched the ball. JWH was strong as was Maubs. I could go on and on.

Taka is incredibly skilled. He is huge, skillful and never stops.
What I am most pleased about is the fact that we finally showed something as a team.

I remember when the second half started one of the commentators mentioned that smith told the players to come out in the 2nd half not to try anything stupiod and not to push the passers,,,so in other words grind out the second half which we did perfectly

Both the NRL web site and thescore.com.au both have us with only three line breaks.

Agree on Kennedy. Awesome performance and only going to get better.

It's capitalising on field position that is a major worry.

                        The Warriors were woeful.

                          Totally right,

Watching the game at the ground I was pleased with Mini's performance but it was obvious he doesn't have the speed. He almost made a number of breaks, found the gaps but they closed too quickly, a yard or two faster and he would have had 3 or 4 clean breaks.
