  • welcome Braith

The Sydney Roosters have pinched one of Penrith's brightest young stars, snaring Greg Alexander's son, Braith, for the 2023 season in a massive coupe for the club.

The young hooker has been plying his trade with Penrith's Jersey Flegg side this season, playing alongside fellow son-of-a-gun Mavrik Geyer, and looks set to advance his career in Bondi next season.

Braith's father, Greg 'Brandy' Alexander, played his entire career at Penrith bar two seasons spent at the New Zealand Warriors, however Braith looks set to write his own story, despite being in the Panthers' system since he was 15.

His agency, Titan Sports Management, announced the promising deal via their Instagram page on Wednesday night.

I find this amusing considering it is painfully obvious his dad hates the Roosters and never tries to hide it...

Yet he named his son after our ex-captain and sent him to Bondi?

Haha what's this, some kinda self-promotion stunt for a random agent? Weird.

Finally something to end Brandy’s anti-Rooster sentiment.

I hope Braith is as smart on the field as Brandy was.

Interesting signing, considering we have Moriarty and Smith. Does it say how old he is?

Very interesting signing considering Greg Alexander is deputy chairman of Penrith Panthers.

Also they lost Api K and Mitch Kenny looks solid but nothing special- hooker is one position that may have an opening.

Anyhow Braith will have to get used to Bondi Beach and ditch Doonside!!

                      Bruce is right.

The main takeout from that article is the name Mavrik Geyer.

And I thought Bradman Best was bad.

Come to think of it, calling your kid Braith is pretty special too.

Literally woulda said 'who the fark is he?!?' if I wasn't a wog from the Gong who used to support the Steelers.

                          Dude. That's random!

I was thinking the same thing….despite delving into his thesaurus every day (looking for BIG words in a vain attempt to make himself sound just a little smarter), before going on air at triple M, Geyer really is a meathead.

Braith Alexander is 20 and the article regarding his signing said he will be playing Jersey Flegg in 2023 whilst transitioning to NSW Cup.

Bit of a strange signing as he only played 2 Jersey Flegg games all season in 2022 for Penrith- The third dummy half

Found the following on a Panther Website which won't go down well with a few on here

"No great loss as My brother played SG Ball for Penrith with him and said he's never had to defend more than when he defended outside Brandy's kid. Can't tackle an orange cone apparently"

I hope that doesn't mean Tyler Moriarty is leaving and they also have Beniah Loelu as well another up and coming dummy half.
