  • Allianz Stadium out of the picture for 7 weeks

    https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl...449ad93849de91

Interesting read. Women’s football World Cup coming here in 2023. Tournament starts around July. Numerous stadiums and training grounds impacted. They’ve said Allianz/facilities will be unavailable for us from rounds 17 onward. Move to SCG as per the article. Shame for members. Was looking forward to not having to go watch a game at the SCG for a while.

Were we aware of this before we paid our membership? There was a significant price increase.

Wouldn't Lidcombe oval be more suitable for the Womens world cup.

Just when you thought you were in the clear.

The SCG drags you back in.

Will never go back there to watch League. Would even think twice about free tickets.

The club needs to pressure the NRL and insist they front load our first 10-12 games and play them at Allianz rather than play out of the SCG.

Yes this has been common knowledge for a while now. Not sure how many home games it will actually effect. We typically play 2 home games away from Moore Park anyway so I imagine they would time those to be during this period + maybe 1 further game at the SCG would be my guess?

Meanwhile (in a Telegraph article for which I can only read the headline), the "Home of the Sydney Roosters" sign is to be taken down.

What is your definition of common knowledge? As in anyone could find it? Because if you go to the Roosters page to sign up as a member, not once is it mentioned in any of the packages. And if it was common knowledge, why did we celebrate the “last game at the SCG” last season, when they already knew it was going be used again in 2023? Or are you suggesting this wasn’t common knowledge, only until recently, and if so…was this through a membership email? Just questions, as I’m interested to know more. Say the non diehard fan signs up as a new member next year, but doesn’t come on this forum, how would they know they’re shipping out between $300-500 dollars on a good membership, to only be able to attend half the games at the new stadium.

so that when we get to the business end of the regular season we'll have all away games
