Train and Trial Players

Couple of interesting signings in regards to train and trial players, along with a host of Flegg players we have signed:

- Junior Pauga a winger from the Tigers who has played a few NRL games
- Dane Aukafolau from the Mounties, is a former centre who now plays back row and is a damaging ball runner
- Guy Hamilton a half from the Burleigh Bears, has been around the QLD Cup for a while now
- Tui Katoa a winger from the Dogs, is the brother of the sharks back Sione and has played NRL - Dogs had huge wraps on him early on however his career was almost cut short after an aneurysm was found on his brain. Only returned to footy mid last year
- Kurt De Luis a prop from Manly who played NRL for them this season

Judging by this list the club is well aware of what positions need more depth.

Agree, with only 1 prop mentioned, this indicates to me that Lodge has agreed to stay and we are good on prop rotation with Lindsay, Lodge , JWH and May./Baker/Atoni as back ups.

May also be to fill the Roosters NSW Cup Squad as they will need to sign a few players.

Not sure if any of the non contracted players on the train and trial list will be looked at for a top 30 squad place though - Roosters have 26 or 27 of the top 30 spots filled if Lodge re-signs so only 3 left if they do fill those last 3 that is.

Not often in the past few seasons they have filled the 30 spots though - development and extended bench players seem to make up the numbers for these last few spots when able to play.

Not sure if development contract players will be available from round 1 for NRL Selection or they go back to having them only available to play NRL after June 30.

Robbo offered me a train and trial. Have been smoking all the youngsters as if I were still in my 20's.

Not announced yet, but hoping to snare a cheeky spot on the wing (maybe FB when Teddy's playing Origin).

I may have missed it but did the club every officially announce May’s extension. I know he mentioned in a post match interview

Hamilton is absolutely useless. I watch a lot of Q Cup and he is nowhere near NRL standard and never will be.
