Sydney Roosters players take out both the Women's and Mens Golden Boot award

Sydney Roosters pair Joseph Manu and Raecene McGregor have claimed the Golden Boot Award as the Men's and Women's International Player of the Year respectively.

The New Zealand internationals both received their awards in Manchester on Tuesday night following stellar seasons both in the Red, White and Blue and in the Test arena.

Great for them. Joey Manu has been elite for years now, good to see him get recognised.

It is going to be very hard to retain Raecene McGregor let alone a host of other players as she really cleaned up in the awards - NRLW and RLPA Women's players of the year/ Half Back of the year in the team of the year and Golden Boot winner for Women's international player of the year.

1 week before the earlier NRLW comp started Raecene was without a NRLW Contract - if it wasn't for Chante Temara unfortunately breaking her hand in the last week of pre-season training Raecene may not have played at least in that comp that the Roosters NRLW team won.

Strange how things work out - go from not wanted to the best Women's player
