  • SST enters the fight game … can TKO, KO?

Found this today & thought a few would be interested. Siou is fighting Jaiman Lowe on the undercard at the Gallen-Hodges rematch. DSF also fighting on the undercard.

Siua had a big overhand right loaded up and no hesitation in coming forward when he and Asofa Solomona clashed in the very first tackle of that game a couple of years ago.
Jaiman Lowe is a brave man.

What is it in wanting to box though especially when a number of these current and ex players have most likely been concussed and suffered the effects of concussions a number of times during their careers.

Just increasing the risk of CTE later on by stepping into the ring especially when they are very much novices at boxing

Certainly as per below Justin Hodges would be best served by foregoing any thought of a career in boxing.

Lodgey was also keen for a fight with Gal but that fizzled out.

How funny would’ve it been to see him go up against SST. Both can throw em…

Pls no smart ass response about lodgey either

Nothing from his stellar career with us has ever made me think he could be a decent boxer (you can't count a couple of little punches with NAS).

Having said that, hope he is successful to the point Gallen was and makes just as much money for his family - go get'em SST.

To me, SST has come across as one of the nicest, gentle and sweetest bloke ever. Was really surprised when reading he was gonna box and couldn’t find an opponent because he apparently throws bombs when punching. True or just publicity from boxing organisers?

I would never believe a boxing promoter - they are just there to sell a product.

having said that I alwayd buy into the hype.

have read in the past that SST had a very rough upbringing and was copping '' hidings '' in the past nearly every day from his parents due to him being with the wrong crowd. He may be calm but those are the scariest ones man when its time to flick the switch they do it instantly - he didnt hesitate at ALL with a much larger body in NAS.

Also i have come across a video of SST doing pad work a few off seasons ago and his form was top notch then, for sure wouldve improved now. Paul Gallen has even gone ahead and dubbed him the next big Footy/Boxing crossover attraction.

Be interesting to see how he goes Brucey. Sounds a bit silly but he "looks" like a boxer, and has one of those countenances that says "mess with me at your peril".

I'm backing him. You can see his smarts and controlled aggression on the footy field. Different beast boxing of course, and wearing punches.

The figure is from Gallen himself, said it averaged out to 8.33 million a year.

but as you said, even if it is “only” $8million, it is probably more than what he made in his career of NRL.

If Gal has made 25 mil he wouldnt be fighting Hodges again, trust me.
The most he would have made is around 4 million IMO.
