A big no thanks. Been there and done that and Stuart is not the right coach for young developing players.

A well-worn point Ray Stehr... but one that doesn't stand the test of history.. we had Fred here for 9 seasons, but it was only during Stuart's three seasons as coach that we had the mongrel to go anywhere near looking like winning a comp...

From 95, Gus got the club back into contention as a genuine force...

In 00 and 01, Murray kept us relatively competitive, obviously so in '00 but in '01 we were badly struggling...

From '02 to '04 was the very, very, very BEST I have ever seen the Roosters play in one continuous era... it was a joy to turn up week-in-week-out at the SFS in that time, to know that the club would have such a dig and put in such an effort...

And the recurring strength each week, was defence, defence, defence....

Sure, I agree we wouldn't have won a single comp without Freddy, but at the same time as I said earlier, we would not have won any comps without a coach to bring out the best in us... and that coach happened to be Rick....

Let's not swap the very good for the perfect here.... when it comes to choosing the next coach, if we can't get the perfect (Bellamy)... let's bring back the good............

Very poignant point 13... one of the major drivers of a successful football team in the NRL is the ability to attract quality playing talent...

Mickey Mouse could've coached that team. They clicked and had the addition of Morley who was on fire in 2002. When Fittler was injured they hardly ever won and when Fittler retired they went down the gurglar. If Stuart was such a "great" coach why didn't we make the semis in 05 and 06? after all we basically had the same squad.

            Good stat Bondi Paul...

As I said to Rick on his last night at Easts, I wouldn't mind seeing him back at the Junction again one day...

After all, what happened when Jack Gibson returned for his second stint coaching Easts? We won two comps!

Artie's second stint at Easts got us within one game of the GF and we should probably have got there...

Gus came back for a second stint, but this time as coaching director not actually coach, and with Stuart as coach, with both those Rugby League legends here, we won another comp...

Remember, people, Ricky's tenacity... the man won Australia the Ashes when we were at our most vulnerable in the last 40 years... he won Canberra some improbable premierships... he got NSW back to displaying passion in Origin last year...

Despite his weaknesses in the past (and recall that we were his first top-grade team to coach)... don't discount how good he was for us just in terms of great wins at home....

Remember those days at the SFS when we used to just demolish and smash the opposition... sure we might not have won all the comps those years, but it was still great to show up to our home ground, with about 16,000 people there on average in the Stuart days, and see us destroy most opposing teams....

I think Ricky was better for our team than the vast majority of our fans give him credit for....

"He has the hard nosed winning edge we need."

Well said Vasc... my thoughts exactly......

Freddie obviously had a huge impact on our team but if my memory serves me right, Ricky was the mastermind of a new gang style defense late in the season which did not allow other teams to mimic or counter so late in the season. I think we won our last 9 games. A lot of credit has to go to Ricky, Cartwright and Pay for that GF victory.

Absolutely 100% correct Buddy... it was Stuart's coaching tactics that got us a premiership... nothing more, nothing less...

And yes, we won 9 in a row to claim that first comp... the first premership win for the red, white and blue in my adult lifetime..

As well, it must be said, that every coach who has worked here since Ricky's exit, has been a major, gross, depressing disappointment...

The dissapointment had well and truly set in by the time Ricky was turning the lights out on his coaching career at easts.

It's a no from the 'house for a Ricky reprisal (or would that be a slight return?)...

Have we run this theory past Fred69er, our resident coaching guru, for approval???

Hang on we won again, maybe you will have to wait another week for a response.
