Anyone know how much coin Atoni was on? Put it in the Sign Matt Lodge Fund now. I got used to his fearless barging runs and super quick play the balls- get it done!!!

What's minimum wage for top-30 players these days? Maybe $250k or something?

Dunno if you can just give Lodge that money as you need 30 players and he was (presumably) on minimum wage. Thus, somebody else would have to take the spot in the 30.

Side note - why was there the 20% cut in 2020 and 6% cut during 2021-22? IMO that was buuuullshyte and the NRL owes players a serious bump in order to compensate for it (I'm thinking at least a 30% bump). While COVID hurt business temporarily, they had the same TV deal and I reckon the NRL/Fox shoulda stomached any revenue decreases... not players.

The minimum wage for players on the bottom end of the salary cap is $120,000. Players 27-30 on a roster earn less, with the minimum wage set at $80,000.

He is contracted to the Roosters and is listed in our top 30 and his photo in a Roosters Jersey is on our website.

Lodge has I understand verbally agreed to a 2 year deal but the contract can't be finalised until the Salary Cap and CBA is finalised.

Managers can’t be trusted as they will always make out that they got the best deal for their client!
The club can’t be trusted as they want to make out as of they did the best deal for their cap!

It was reported as per below and both are basically saying the same thing - players 27 to 30 are on 80 k -the other min wage is mentioned as 120k.

As Atoni has played 43 NRL games one figures he would not be being paid 80k or 120 k as that would be wages for players with none or very little NRL experience so 150k a season sounds about right for player of his standing at this stage of his career.
