Toni Tupouniua may have spent almost all of 2022 playing for St Mary’s in Ron Massey Cup, but the Knights are confident the 23-year-old has the potential to play NRL. Tupouniua is the younger brother of Roosters second-rower, Sitili and according to reports has already inked a two-year full-time deal.

Before you say he’s only in Harold Mathews but so was Ethan Robert’s.

Ethan Roberts turns 18 next year, Fittler doesn't hence he wouldn't be eligible to play First Grade.

If Sitilli gets back to full fitness next year he will be in the run on side so that tells me Robbo doesn’t think he’s a liability in defence.

I don't rate Sitili, he's only good when he gets the ball with the line open, I've never seen him bust a tackle, and his lateral movement in defence is very poor. He is one player i would be happy to wave goodbye to.

Sitilli is the Roosters most potent attacking forward & scores more tries than any other forward. He also pulls off some big hits that’s why he was in the starting side.

After Nat Butchers form after replacing Sitili don't be surprised if he has surpassed him in the pecking order. Sitili off the bench could be a njice weapon to have against tiring defences.

The only big hits he pulls off are when he is at lock which plays in the middle third with plenty other defenders around in case he misses.

Sitilli is not perfect but he's still a Rooster & he's still a top player.
The Roosters produced him & he's only ever played for the Chooks & thats what I like. I would rather produce them then buy them established from other clubs.

Never seen him bust a tackle you can't be serious....
I agree his defense can be beyond average. I think he is a real weapon off the bench pbencng around 35min a game. Playing less minutes will also improve hos defense and decision making under duress

Sitili has spent the last 24 months effectively being a Mr. Fixit (in 1 game in 2021 he played 2nd row, centre and wing all in 80 minutes) whilst being the body guard for an 18/19 year old halfback. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves here, luckily Robbo loves him.

No the Hutchinator will be a contender of a spot in the 17 each week.

• Manu may fill in for game here and there but not mid or long term as you don't weaken one position to strengthen another
• Watson the same but he's more of running lock nowadays
• Hutch can play both mid and long term so definitely an option
• Sandon would be in contention although he is on a develop contract so not sure when he would be available for NRL - They have allowed develop contract players to play NRL from round 1 due to Covid the past few season - pre-Covid they were only available for NRL after June 30.

It will be interesting to see how Sandon goes as Robbo and Cronk have big wraps on him- hopefully we see more of his goal kicking as he is a very good one but wasn't used in NSW Cup
