I think thats a very convenient framing of the situation that happens to suit your stance.

We welcomed Connor Watson back after we signed someone in his position and he left to chase a spot in the halves. We welcomed Angus Crichton back after he thought his path was blocked to first grade. Plenty seem happy to welcome Roger back if he wanted.

I'd welcome Sam Verrills back tomorrow.

Lets not pretend its an issue of "he chose to leave us".

You are wrong, he left because his body was breaking down and for his mental health which probably had plenty to do with that situation brought upon by himself. Both the club and he admitted it was he who initiated the release. Newcastle had nothing up their sleeve and let's be honest, no one is pushed out of Newcastle these days all their good players just leave.

This is even worse. Do you need me to send you something? Maybe something footy related? Or how about a nice cute photo of your dog.

There's nothing better than experiencing a premiership win but a close second to that is enjoying the careers of the people who come through our club and share in our love for the club.

I understand Pearce is a devisive figure and some on here based on that flat out won't want to see him again but I also understand those who do because he gave everything when he put on that jersey and whilst the break up was messy there's nothing but some petiness that can't be forgiven.

If he's sitting on a 150k contract in reserve grade passing on what he's learnt in his time in the game and setting standards at training for the youngsters then I reckon its 150k well spent, even if he doesn't play first grade.
He would have come in handy the last couple of seasons thats for sure. Somehow I think he would see that sort of coin or role as an insult.
He would make a good strength and conditioning coach there are not many fitter in the game.

The best thing we did back then was sign Cronk.
The decision came with a bonus.

Just watched that first half, Maloney was sublime, orchestrated every try except for the Pearce intercept, the ball from Jennings, then the take from Toops for the 3rd try was just unbelievable.

didn't want to watch the second half

Ha ha yeah I didn't watch the second half either.

But the first half is prime roosters porn.

How lucky have we been to have Tupou all this time - he's really one of the roosters' greats overall. And such a gentle giant off the field.

As mentioned already in this thread, we have Cronk and Keary at the club. Pearce wouldn't tie their shoelaces.

Hope Toops can surpass Minichello's try scoring record this season. He would've had a great season if he does

Ooooft look at that score line. Wasn’t that the game that keary went off with his HIA which started his issues?

Back on topic, that was such a immature thing to do at the time… could tell we definitely hurt him and he wanted to show that he didn’t care
