Skeletor trying to talk up a “ rivalry “

Lol the Dolphins see their opening game to us as a “rivalry” game and they believe could turn out to be one of the biggest modern rivalries in our game. I say no chance… sure there is history with Arthur and his achievements between both clubs but I just can’t see it being a big enough draw to call it that.

The rivalry we have with souffs is only a recent thing afterall.
When I grew up playing souffs was just another game................ask anyone from the old Turner stand and they'll tell you that we were encouraged to hate Manly more. In fact when my father grew up it was common practice to support the "neighbours" when the tri-colours weren't playing.

No it's not, it's been around since the game began and they beat us in the first GF.

Not today but why not build that rivalry, The Beetson cup could become one of our bigger games during the regular season.
It might take them a few years but it be great if they start pushing for premierships, I would be happy to play and defeat them over nearly every other team in the grand final.

When I was a kid and started following league in the early 70s I was taught to hate Manly, Souths hardly rated a mention.
We are like the Manly of the 70s, the most hated team because we are so successful like they were back then and I love it.

Rivalry doesn't have to mean hate, that's reserved for Souths.
