  • Team Talk: Roosters 2023 overview, best 17, squad update

The Roosters will go into the 2023 season optimistic they've got the squad that can challenge for a title after a shock finals exit in week one last year.

For a club who plays for premierships and are notable contenders each year, the last three since they lifted the trophy in 2019 will feel a lot longer for their fanbase, who are used to and always demand success.

    > Matt Lodge is on a train and trial deal at the club but that is expected to be sorted once the CBA is finalised by the NRL. Another middle could also be handy with three spots left on the roster.

    Any updates on this one?

He's signed to the end of 2023 with Parra - Not in their top 30 squad though as per their club site - Has 100% tackle efficiency - mmm only 22 tackles though

Not Roosters related but can someone tell me what a train and play player would be paid in 2023

                  Based on previous years

Train and Trial players are paid a minimum of $1000 per week.

Extended bench players if required to train full time with the NRL squad a minimum of $1000 per week plus $3000 for each NRL game they play

I reckon the Drizz had a thing going on where Cheese, Grant, Pap and Munster were either trying to form a boyband.l or they were trying to compete with all those stupid VFL hairstyles.

DUNNO! Either way, Nick knows what kinda person he wants. Footy players, not the BSB.

I thought Munster and Cheese had to dye their hair as a team chosen punishment for something like being late for a bus or the likes? It was supported by the coach who I reckon doesn’t put up with excess larrickinism.

I’m pretty sure I heard that the bleaching of the hair stuff at the Melbourne Storm was a punishment & that’s why Munster & the Cheese both had dyed hair.
