  • I am blessed

In my lifetime, I've seen Easts win the GF 6 times. Unless you're a 60-70 year old Saints or Souffs fan, not many others match this.

Ok Manly fans, Bronco's fans and Berries fans too...

Still, that's damn good. The only downside is that I was never at the grounds when we won. I was at the grounds in 1980, 2000, 2003 and 2004. Guess how the results went? I was the bad luck charm.

Anyway its 6 wins and 6 losses in my lifetime. Let's make it 7-6.

    GO EASTS.

Yes Bruce, took a long time for those 6 premierships to materialise.

I myself was at the ground for our 1975, 2013 and 2019 GF wins.

Got back from Hawaii in 2018 for my son to tell me when we got off the plane we were up 14-0 at half time - then raced to my local pub to see the second half.

I met your name sake quite a few times, used to run the video rental store at The Spot.

I've also attended all the losses but the wins also since 2000

Not sure why but the Broncos loss didn't hurt that much in 2000. Maybe making it after so long was enough and thanks to Luke Phillips the score flattered us

The Penrith loss was so hard to take. We were morals..when it rained I started to worry

Enjoyed the Storm GF win the most, wow we were on !!!

I was at the ground for wins in 1974, 2013, 2018 and 2019 and losses in 1980, 2000 and 2003. My dad had a SCG members card for the 1975 GF and took my brother because he was willing to wear a woman's scarf so that he could use the pass he had for an accompanying lady guest. Had I known the result in advance, I would have been willing to wear a bikini.

The pickings were pretty slim in the last quarter of the 20th century, but I feel blessed too. Hopefully, I'll be alive until the middle of the 21st century and see another 10 GF wins.

Was at the ‘75 and ‘19 wins and the ‘80, 2000 losses. Had tix to the 2004 and 2018 games but didn’t go as I hated the possibility of losing to the Dogs and couldn’t stand to watch Finch play for us. The ‘18 GF I just felt it to be a very special day and wanted to enjoy it by myself at
hine and sent the wife and kids to the game . It was a very special game , one of the best ever first halves of league, as good as our second half of ‘75.

I'm sorta the opposite in terms of viewing. Attended in 2002, 2013, 2018 and 2019. Was gonna attend in 2010 but bailed as the logistics were too much.

That said, I've been to a puck load of finals games where we've been bundled out early. The worst was that one where the Riff beat us. I was right behind Soward as he kicked a conversion near the end. I thought he missed so clapped and yelled out 'hahaha nice one Soward!' Everybody looked around at me with demented faces, like 'mate WTF!!! He just nailed it you idiot and now we're farked having led the whole bloody game!!! Give yourself an uppercut, lad!'

I've been to all 8 Grand Finals since 2000. I remember the 1980 GF watching at home (I was 9) and have no recollection of 74/75.

After '80, there was the longest time where I honestly never thought I'd see us in another GF, let alone win. To witness 8, with 4 premierships...well, it's still hard to believe.

All 4 wins amazing in their own right.

We are pretty lucky. We are 4-4 in my time as a fan on GF day. I’ve been to 3 wins (13, 18 and 19) and two losses (00, 10).

Most fans would kill for that over the past 25 years alone!

2002 will always be the most special to a lot of us. You never forget the first and there had been a legit 7-8 year buildup to that title with a lot of good teams that just fell short

I've never thought about it before but yes I have been lucky to witness so many premierships. I guess I just take them as granted seen we are so successful.
My Manly supporter brother any myself are both late 1960s kids, between us that's a lot of premierships.

I think manly are the most successful team from the 70s onwards? They have won at least one premiership in every decade since the 70s.

The Doggies have been a pretty successful club as well since Ive been watching the game.
The Dogs are only a couple of years away from becoming one of the top clubs again.
