The inaugural opening tonight. It's a nice boost for the club in the preseason.

Anyone going? Did fans even have access to this?

I only ask as I was hoping for some reports of the goings on.

I suppose the Roosters will put up some vids of Robbo and sundry giving speeches and the like.

Hope it's a good night and Uncle Nick gets his name etched in there somewhere.

    GO EASTS

      It’s named after Uncle Nick.

Remarkable feat considering that we are an eastern suburbs team.

Got a shiver watching the video about the museum foundation room, so much great memorabilia and history on display.

It's important stuff! Won't say who but a while back I sent some unused kit to a bloke online because he'd lost everything in a natural disaster. He teared up big time then sent me a photo of him in an Easts team photo from before my time. Googled him and he definitely did our jersey proud.

IMO it's easy for this stuff to get lost in history, particularly with the way the world is right now.

                  Spine tingling stuff.
From Dally M to Dave Brown to Big Artie and Big Jack to Uncle Nick. We are truly blessed and proud.
                  Happy 115th birthday Easts!!

Hahaha yeah and in general usage TBH.

I remember the area I worked for with an old job was called a 'centre of excellence', a term all the big bosses threw around a lot when speaking to large groups (usually paired with corporate speak that had no resemblance to what us mere plebs were actually doing). The organisation was also going through the process of hiring a bunch of overpaid 'business' analysts who were making us 'AGILE' and calling needless team meetings 'SCRUMs'. I'm really glad I left that world as it was an absolute crock and seemingly only served the purpose of guaranteeing more overpaid jobs for consultant while the plebs maintained minimum viable products on the smell of an oily rag.

In practice I think 'centre of excellence' is just business speak for a work facility. That said in Easts' case it involve us having a very awesome new home for at least the next 25 years, so I'm all for it!!!

It would be nice to watch Uncle Nicks Speech on the night, apparently the Roosters have 150 million in assets now. Worth more than the NRL. Hopefully when he does move on that whoever takes over can build on that, ensuring our security for the future rather than squandering it.
