If Keary goes I would contemplate Teddy at 5/8th but I think the coach will lean to Manu.
How scary will he be when he does develop a passing game!

I've heard the Teddy to 5/8th call before....can't say I've seen anything from Teddy that resembles a halves game.

        Agree....he's a runner, not a passer or a kicker.

Probably just jettison a few of our surplus outside backs if suaali stays.

I'd prefer an actual half when Keary retires and we have one in Sandon Smith

I think when Keary finishes that Manu will be our 5/8 especially if JS has the patience to wait for Teddy to retire.

Watching him play. He won’t even reach the ‘heights’ of your fave Lachie Lam.

Sandon Smith will do the job having seen him play from Andrew Johns Cup - Harold Matts - Laurie Daley Cup with Central Coast Roosters - then SG Ball/Jersey Flegg with the Roosters and last season NSW Cup with Norths

In 2021 he played SG Ball then 4 or so Jersey Flegg Games until that comp was cancelled - 2022 I was expecting him to play Jersey Flegg but he was put into NSW Cup instead - played in the NRL trials in 2022 which gives one an indication of what the coaching staff think of him as an upcoming player.

Tyler Moriarty has followed the same pathway.

A few in yesterdays Central Coast Roosters Laurie Daley Cup Team to look out for as well -Xavier Taurerewa-Yucel (Centre ) , Zac Gillett (Dummy Half ) , Dylan Coyte (Back rower)

                        ROOSTERS

                        Siua Wong and Sandon Smith

Roosters fans would have kept a close eye on Wong in the Rugby League World Cup and they’ll get another look at him during the trials. The 19-year-old had a breakout season in 2022, captaining the Roosters’ SG Ball side to a grand final and cementing a starting spot in NSW Cup. Wong played every minute of Fiji’s World Cup campaign in the second row and has also been touted by league guru Phil Gould as the “next big thing.”

Smith is a half with a big future in the NRL. The Central Coast product was one of the North Sydney Bears’ best players last season despite still being eligible for Jersey Flegg. His touch football background has given him a blistering running game, while he also has the skill and composure of a game-managing No.7.

Wong certainly seems primed to make his first grade debut this year.

How many halves have we developed through our junior system in the last 25 years have had success with us ??

I think quite highly of Sandon Smith. It'll be quite tough for him to have a long career with us given we have Sammy W and then you'd assume Manu to take over from Keary when he retires, but I'd like to see Sandon get a crack.

The drums are beating loudly for RTS to play in the centres for the Roosters in 2024.
