Lot of assumptions as to the seriousness (or lack of) regarding this incident. Charges: fight in a public place, fail to comply with an exclusion direction, resist arrest. Again, fight in a public place, fail to comply with an exclusion direction, resist arrest.
Most Cops I know are pretty tolerant of a good natured wrestle between two mate who may have had a few too many.. Possibly more too it,
Either way, it's pretty simples, don't fight in public, move on when asked and don't resist arrest. If you have been given those directions and been unable to comply, it's pretty safe to say you have an issue of some consequence.

Sounds like the cops told them to get farked, they resisted and then the cops threw the book at them (I could look-up the max punishment & what an exclusion order is, but I'm way too tired after a day of gardening and taking ~10 boot-loads of green waste to the green waste place, whatever you call it. Brain's officially fried. Might have a look in the morning if nobody else has).

To me this sorta thing always says more about the intelligence of players than anything. Canberra's a small town and a nanny state - WHY have your massive birthday piss-up there?!? Have a dinner on Lonsdale St at some hipster joint + a few beers... SURE! However, don't wander the streets of Civic at 3:45am (it's dead anyway!)
Seriously if you're both on $1m a year then you can afford to be ANYWHERE in Canberra. Why Bunda St at some pickup joint at 3:45am?!?!? I don't wanna say it but you are ASKING for something to happen!
Instead they should rented a penthouse with a club-style sound/lighting system, linked up with Nick Kyrgios, called-in some high class strippers, smashed a heap of beers and then hit up Maccas for breakfast. Instead they were fighting on Bunda Street like a bunch of farking peasants... some prude called the cops and they're now a headline. Stupid stuff there!!!

Guessing they'll get some minor punishment and we'll have forgotten about this by round 2.

Wait, you can't do that, because Albo can't or won't tell the details.
Look up Victoria's Voice, actually in place.
It'll likely scare you into voting NO in the federal referendum.

Latrell-whilst being restrained and placed under arrest -
“ stop it you’re hurting me”. Here we go again with the police brutality against the innocent black man line…..
Maybe, just maybe, if you weren’t being a dickhead and breaking the law in the first place, the cops wouldn’t have had to be involved.
It’s called ACCOUNTABILITY

[QUOTE=Headless Chook; Seems like a beat up and overreation to me. They were wrestling each other and bystanders called the cops, so what's the actual crime? I would be asking the police what I was being charged with too if I was Mitchell and Wighton.
The charges are mentioned in an earlier post. Trell is charged with, inter alia, Affray which is quite serious, hardly "wrestling". Affray is conduct which puts others in fear of their safety. I would imagine that the "others" in this case would have been the police attending. Trell is charged on more counts than Wighton including resisting arrest but we saw flashes of that excessive behaviour when he was in the side and again in the Manu incident. Musta been a handful up in Taree growing up.
