[QUOTE=bondi.boy;
You need to read up on what exactly the Indigenous Voice to Parliament actually is/means.
Wait, you can't do that, because Albo can't or won't tell the details.

Tut...tut BB, you're attempting to muddy the waters on this just like the Lib Right wing is.

The referendum is only concerned with the first stage of the PRINCIPAL of the consultation proposal ]which is The Voice and we will vote on the simple question, "Do you agree that there should be such a process?" That's it. Should there be a voice for First Nations?

The second stage - the details, will then be worked out in the parliament by debate. That's why there have been "no details", they're yet to be worked out. The Right know that and so should you, you old mischief maker.
[QUOTE=Headless Chook; Seems like a beat up and overreation to me. They were wrestling each other and bystanders called the cops, so what's the actual crime? I would be asking the police what I was being charged with too if I was Mitchell and Wighton.

The charges are mentioned in an earlier post. Trell is charged with, inter alia, Affray which is quite serious, hardly "wrestling". Affray is conduct which puts others in fear of their safety. I would imagine that the "others" in this case would have been the police attending. Trell is charged on more counts than Wighton including resisting arrest but we saw flashes of that excessive behaviour when he was in the side and again in the Manu incident. Musta been a handful up in Taree growing up.
Well most of the reports seem to have softened their stance now and are saying the police were excessive in their handling of the issue. They shouldn't have been out and about that late but who hasn't ended up having a 'run at me' moment with a mate after session on the sauce at some stage. Anyway, don't really care what comes of it, neither player wears red white and blue.

Well, they're both on their way to play in the Indigenous/All Stars game, so no punishment, it seems. No 'bringing the game into disrepute', no nothing.

It may well have been harmless fun to begin with, and we don't know all the details, but causing a disturbance in public warrants at least some sort of censure from the NRL, not to mention resisting arrest, which is a crime under the crimes act and comes with penalties - even imprisonment. I'm not saying he should be hung out to dry for what happened, but if it was Mitchell Pearce, he would've been immediately suspended for 12 months.

They'll cop suspensions. They just won't happen until they've been to court on 22 Feb.

I’m just glad Latrell's back on the front page of the Chookpen, so we can all have something to say about him.

Fatrell should have gone to KFC instead of a Canberra nightclub.

They are both facing criminal charges yet there’s no sanctions from the NRL. What has happened to the No Fault Stand down policy.
Is this the new precedent?
I guess it might depend on who you are and how big your profile is.

LOL
Debate?
With Labor controlling the parliament.
You vote for what's in the mystery box, I cannot.
I want details of exactly what I'm voting for.
No "pig in a poke" for me.
Respected Indigenous leaders are saying to vote NO.

Sky news today:
Anthony Albanese declares Voice to Parliament will not 'threaten' Australian backyards as he dismisses concerns over body's power.

While Mr Albanese vowed the Voice would not have an impact on land ownership, there have been cases in recent years of Indigenous bodies seizing public land.

Yep I agree. It's hardly the crime of the century. I would be disappointed if I was a Raiders or Rabbots supporter because you have to ask yourself what good these guys thought would come of heading into town to get hammered. It's not like they're not well known!

Mt Warning up here is apparently off limits. Where does that end, and why should any race of human be privy to public land over anyone else.

I get safety concerns and a damaging footprint (take out what you take into the bush) but Mt Warning? It's not about to fall over.

Thanks Dom.
