I might be dealing with some sort of depression right now.
I've been treated for that before and thought I was over it but there are a few things which involve family, and finances and health in general that don't go away.
It's a day to day thing many people deal with, many with much bigger problems than I have so I'm not ooking for sympathy, I'll be fine,
but as I said in another post, I have always been super optomistic about the Roosters, always thought we were a chance of winning any game,
Just last season I had $1,000 on us to make the 8 after we lost to penrith and needed to win 7 out of 8 to make it.
just recently these doubts have popped into my mind.
As I said elsewhere, I hope I am wrong.
Wishing you all the best with everything. I always joke that I slept all through the 2016 season and barely watched a game but I had so much going on myself I lost my NRL mojo that year. Sometimes life just gets in the way and even the most positive souls amongst us need a break from trying to be upbeat all the time. It's just not humanly possible.
Be kind to yourself.

Don’t take my BB comment to heart. I was just mucking around tongue in cheek. I love old BB too and his pessimistic ways. Take care.

Thankyou, I'll shut up about the negative stuff now. Doesn't do anyone any good including myself. I just so want them to win, or even just play well, you know. I look forward to the games every week, I plan things around them.
I hate it that so many commentators seem to death ride us, and carry on hysterically when we are scored against.
It's my 71st birthday tomorrow 25th Feb.
I guess I am a grumpy old man, but I'll work on it.

Happy birthday for tomorrow and I hope you have a great day. As for the commentators, those who can't do, just criticise those who can. Many are jealous as they never got to don our great jersey and have a great playing career or win premierships. We read a spiteful article in the AFR the other day about one of our execs at work. I said we must have turned the journo down for an internship when he was younger, so he had an axe to grind. It happens all over the world in different industries. Don't let the turkeys get you down.
71 is not old either..cheers to you!

I hope you have a wonderful birthday. We celebrated my Godfather's 70th recently, and he commented on "how blessed he feels to have made it to 70.... its the new 60"

I admire your honesty. It’s always hard to share regarding mental health. I hope that you can recover, and I hope you are wrong about the Roosters too.
Your not alone in both what your going through and negative thoughts about the roosters. Best way to deal with it is to talk to someone.
We all might not be able to help you with your depression and I’m sure you are getting the help and support you need but we will still try.
One thing we can help with is everything Rooster related even if it involves talking negative about the team at times. We’ve all done it on here at some point. I don’t care when others voice their disapproval of our teams performance as it keep the conversation going and gives us something to actually debate, it’s healthy.

Hey mate thats not great to hear, wishing you all the best.
Enjoy your contributions, you are always a straight shooter and clear about what you like/dont like.
Will say that social media is not the best haunt for people struggling with stuff upstairs, too much negativity and wannabe heroes.
But theres some good cats here, and you can PM me if you ever felt like a yarn sometime.
I think we'll still have some fun with Easts this year, just need a few little tweaks and some average luck.

Well said Jack and we are hoping NSK had a great birthday .
I have no expectations for this season and that means we are going to be in for some surprisingly good and satisfying wins this year so I do hope NSK and everyone else will get some enjoyment from the games this year. Many of us have serious stuff going on the background and 80 mins of Roosters every weekend should be a good short term cure.
I joined the company footy tipping comp as I work for a major sponsor ( our CEO is a Dragons fan). My manager said just go and type 'Go The Roosters' all over our work social media sites... I got permission to wear my Easts 08 T-shirt for the charity walk on Thursday too.

One day at a time mate. Hopefully you have or give yourself the time and space to clear your head. It is only temporary
PS Dont worry too much about the footy its not important in times like these
When you trust your television

Cause when they own the information
they can bend it all they want
Thanks for the kind wishes, I had a very enjoyable birthday celebration with friends. Positivity is so important, and as I said previously, up til this season I ALWAYS think the Roosters can win ANY GAME. Don't know where the negativity came from, but I'm putting it behind me. I'm looking forward to the season starting and i hope we have a great year.
Ofcourse we can beat the Flippers, but I'll be happy with a narrow win.
Skeletor will have them up for it, and if we give them a sniff early we may pay for it.
They have plenty of size and experience in the forwards, and they have talented backs, plus they will have all the crowd support, it's a HUGE day for them.
I hope we have a game plan to handle them. Ofcousre the first thing is to match them in the forwards, if the Cheese can get us on a roll and we get some quick play the balls we could open them up through the middle.
Our halves and their kicking games will be a big factor.
Hoping for a big game from Suaalii.
