    OK Vasco, I will bite..

Everyone would love a Gallen style lock, but people must remember Gallen wasn't playing this style of football in his second season of first-grade..He has been playing in the top grade for 10 years and his game has evolved into what it is today...

To think that JWH can do that in his second season is crazy..

He is developing brilliantly at the moment and may well get to Gallen-style proportions..

ATM, when he plays too many minutes he starts to get sloppy..Slow to get off tackled players, careless high shots, runs that don't have the impact..

I am going to trust Smith to bring JWH along...He is doing a good job of it ATM...

In saying that, I believe if we actually had another front-rower other than Kennedy, it would be a better idea..

IMO Gallens always played that way, it's just now the medias caught on, hence everyone else has caught on. And his efforts in last years Origin from the front row just highlighted the prop/lock similarities IMO.

Not saying he's always been that good, of course like a fine red he's matured.

I don't think anyone would expect JWH to be Gallen at this stage. No reason to not try and emulate someone like Gallen though.

I agree with the lack of props thing. Mose has been a let down. But IMO FPN is a prop wearing 13 and I don't see why JWH couldn't fill the same role here. Not exactly a Gallen, but as I said earlier a Gallen style lock.

Sorry for answering for Vasco, he's waaaaaaaay to slow IMO.

      The FlogPen .

      You know it makes sense.

if we run out of centres we;ll have no wingers. no wingers means no one to look bad except for braith at full back

Watched him play the tits, he hides. First time I have seen him live. Like him much, but he hides.

Gallen has only been playing tight for a few years. Earlier, he was prone to sticking on the edges and stifling attacking moves.

Although, in true Gallen-superfreak fashion, he has managed to improve his hands out of sight. He is now used in more attacking set moves. Flanagan has done some awesome work with him in that respect.

Ricky Stuart helped Gallen evolve. Flanagan inherited a great footballer.

Played 63 minutes, topped the hit ups with 17 for 111 metres, and and equalled our most tackles with 31 is not exactly hiding ...
I think you may be confusing him with our number 6

IMO he'd relish the increased workload and game time and become our Gallen style lock, a cross between a lock and a prop.

It's what FPN has done this season, a tight loose forward playing many mins and increasing his involvement, very well IMO.

Agree with the playing the edges bit mate and stifling attack. I suppose even then he played like a tight forward, just was used on the edges wrongly for his style of play.

I think he still overplays the ball playing a bit, but that may be a hangover from the last few years and their lack of genuine playmakers. With Carntey I'd expect him to do less Ballplaying in attack, save his energies for close to the line where he is very effective and strong with that bullocking style of run he has, carrying 3 blokes on his back. So determined and focussed, super freak LOL. Has the ball skills though. That Bakuyra has em too.

IMO Flanagan has done a great job at the Tards and with the roles he uses Gallen in. Smart coach, deserves a fat new rich contract IMO.

Im sort of glad that Frank Paul will be out of action. I just dont think he is tough enough I wish he was like Sika Manu but he not.

With this frontrower type player playing lock for me it only works if the guy playing lock is a mongrel type player. Gallen Glen Stewart.

I dont think the Roosters should try & play to that trend, I prefer a guy like Takairangi to play lock & have Maubs & Symonds/Cordner in the backrow. Hopefully SBW next year.
I only want to see JWH in the FR & I want to see him become the most feared forward in the game.

                              Bad example.

Sika Manu is Melbourne's own FPN.

Low workrate. Prone to bludging. Great at driving knees into calves.

That guy is a bigger myth than Adam Blair. I was laughing when NRL on Fox was suggesting that he will go for a high price on the open market. The bloke is living off Bellamy's legacy without attributiing all that much.

This is the guy who played almost half game with a smashed jaw?

Besides that i think FPN's been one of our best recently playing with plenty of mongrel & aggression.
