  • FPN's Injury

Anyone heard the latest on FPN's injury? I was away all weekend and haven't caught up with the latest, so apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere.

I'd like to see Bosden get a crack at replacing FPN. Reports are that he has been playing well for Newtown.

Tough backrower Frank Paul Nuuausala has successfully undergone surgery to repair the fractured jaw he suffered in Saturday nights win over the Titans.

Nuuausala had a plate inserted in to his jaw and the operating surgeon reported the plate made the jaw extremely stable and as a result it is hoped Nuuausala will return to the field in 5-6 weeks.

There were no other injuries picked up on the Gold Coast.

I really wouldn't mind bringing Mose back to the bench, moving Tasi into the front row and trying JWH at 13.

IMO he'd relish the increased workload and game time and become our Gallen style lock, a cross between a lock and a prop.

It's what FPN has done this season, a tight loose forward playing many mins and increasing his involvement, very well IMO.

        You know it makes sense.

Yeah, I'd thought of that as well, but JWH has been playing so well up front I'd rather not change anything about his game.

My obsession is you. I'm sure that was a line from an old shitty song mate. Google me up.

No I'm just being realistic. I accept the way the modern game has changed and is ever changing. I also don't overrate reserve graders playing against reserve graders in a reserve grade comp.

That said I have no problemo if the coach feels it's time for Bosden or Tagavie or Mortein or Moga etc to get their shot. I've said from day 1 we will have injuries and suspensions and rep players and we will rely on our depth.

Every good side has to rely on depth. Go back to our 02 side, Kidwell, Byrne, Robinson and co were as important to us winning the GF as anyone in the final 17. Their contributions to getting us there cannot be undervalued.

And our reserve graders will be invaluable this season IMO. I just won't include them as yet cos I believe the coaches know what's best suited at this time, and that seems to be working.

FPN is out for 8 weeks...

The good part about this is we have 50 backrowers in our club so we have 49 to chose from in the next 8 weeks, barring more injuries.

But if we choose another back rower, we'll run out of centres!

True that. It will impact our centres and wingers.

Careful mate you'll get gunned down by the anti JWH to lock people.

I reckon it's the perfect opportunity to put him there but we all know it won't happen.

Why change his position when he is killing it in the front row???
Cordner will start in the backrow.
                        Guera should be back soon.

                          Yep.
He's improving all the time in the front row.
                          Leave him there.

Meh I'm used to taking one for the team maaaaaaaaate.

What I dont get is some don't see that him playing at lock is just an extension of his play in the front row. It just requires a higher work rate and more time on the field, ala Gallen, which IMO he's craving. And the team just looks so much better the more JWH is on the field.

Anyhow I do agree, I doubt it will happen. That said Smiff uses FPN in the exact role so maybe.

I guess it more comes down to if Smiff feels Mose is ready again, sumtingwong with that bloke. Physical not sure, I feel maybe it's in his melon.

And HIG, classic, Ivas mullet was a killer.
