Maybe he isn't ready just yet...... nothing worse that putting in a rookie when their not ready

Fair call, but wasn't it Smithy who said Moga has kicked down the door and Moga was going to debut in rnd 1 before being injured in the trials. Whats changed?

You answered your own question. Smith said that before he was injured. It has obviously set him back.

              Yes that was smith.

The same smith who refused to promote a young gun jared hayne onto the wing despite his form in the lower grades back years ago and despite his parra backs going like busted the first half of that season. It took Taylor only 1 minute in charge once smith stood down to promote hayne to make his first grade debut and the rest as they say is history.

Smith seems to like wingers who can do hitups. It doesn't seem to matter if they have no pace, can't catch a bomb, can't beat an opponent with footwork, can't defend, can score tries. As long as you can do a hitup, you will get picked by smith.

I'm probably wrong but that's how it seems to me

History shows they timed his debut to perfection...

It was Taylor that promoted him - on day 1. If it was up to smith, he'd probably still be in reserve grade & forced to leave to another club to become a superstar elsewhere just like Mateo, tonga and according to another person on here gallen

I wouldnt read too much into it, I think its best to wait give him a string of games in the NCY and even a couple of games for the jets.

I was just thinking. If smith really told gallen that he wouldn't make it in the nrl, does that mean that smith rated Daniel wagon much higher considering that he continued to pick wagon in the back row year after year much to the shock of eels fans?

I understand people being impatient as we have an exciting young player in our midst who could be anything....however.....he is underdone and you should all know how important confidence is going to be to a young player like that making his first grade debut.
It would be tragic if he was brought in too early only to have his confidence shattered. The same critics (looking at you Fred 69) would then be blaming Smith for his 'inability to blood youngsters' or some such crap if Moga didnt set the world on efire in his first match.

Do bear in mind as well that this much criticized backline we currently have has won more or less every game since round 20 last year.

Just settle the f*** down. He will debut at latest in the Origin period pending any further injury.
