Everytime BJ was named on the bench or started on the bench in 2010 he came on as a backrower. Had a blinder against Brisbane in Round 20 playing edge second rower. Played all his schoolboy career in the backrow. To discount the position a player plays his junior footy is utterly ludicrous.

Think you need to chill out a bit AWOL, this is a site for conveying opinions and thats all BF is doing.

Not to restart this argument, but I am curious...

Why did we let go of Tamou and David Mead (I believe he was once here but may be getting him mixed up with someone else)? Was it financial or were they unwanted?

Not making a point, just would like to know.

Don't forget Wagon also played for Australia at the same time ... So clearly others besides Brian Smith saw something in him.

Adrian Lam was trying to talk Mead into coming here when he was coach of PNG....

Honestly, the Tamou talk is way over the top. He is a decent prospect going ok. He has a heck of a long way to go and has not been playing anywhere near as great as some media have been making out. We let him go simply coz u can't keep them all.

I can't remember Mead ever being here. Maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe, but I don't remember that BF. I thought cowboys just offered him more and we couldn't, or didn't want to, match it.

That's correct; and in fact Gus dropped him straight back to reserve grade the following year.

                        • We could only keep one of Tamou or Kennedy. Tamou was outstanding in the under 20's but Kennedy was seen as a future captain of the club. I think we made the right choice.

Damn, it would have been great to keep both. I like Tamou.

if it was a choice then i agree, we made the correct decision. that said, i would have prefered to have kept tamou over masoe. tamou can be just as destructive but is far more consistent and has a much bigger engine. that said, evans is just as impressive if not more so than tamou at the same age and imo they are very very similar players in terms of build and style. Evans is also an excellent leader so although his passage into firsts is not assured, imo if he does continue to develop we will not rue the loss of tamou in the long run as we have kept kennedy and mose (who although inconsistent is in a league of his own); and have a player in the tamou mold in evans.

on the topic of young props, i really like napa as well. massive prospect imo. tough, aggressive, mobile, good offload and big motor. also an excellent defender technically. reminds me a lot of nate myles and i genuinely believe that he also has what it takes. we have some serious depth and talent up front. i havent even mentioned tago, L.perrett, tuivasa and that sg ball prop that has plenty of admirers.

                              • Agree with everything you say Roz. Evans and Napa are massive talents, not to mention Tago. Lets hope they progress well into first grade.
