  • NRLW-Incredibly Significant':Women Secure State-Of-The-Art Home In Roosters Heartland

Sydney Roosters Captain Isabelle Kelly has lauded today's announcement of a new, dedicated women's Centre of Excellence based in the centre of Roosters Heartland as 'incredibly significant' to the future of the women's game.

Kelly was on hand alongside CEO Joe Kelly, Coach John Strange and Tarsha Gale skipper Ally Bullman as the New South Wales Government confirmed the allocation of a $15 million grant to build the state-of-the-art facility at the Showring, located in the Entertainment Quarter precinct at Moore Park.

Thanks King. This is very impressive and will be world class. Love yet again how we are still streets ahead and leading the rest and setting the tone for professionalism and forward thinking.

Unselfish act from the club also:

"In order to realise this shared vision, the Sydney Roosters and AFL NSW/ACT will collectively match the generous funding being provided by the NSW Government.”

Wait for the gnashing of teeth (that's if there are any left) from the Easts detractors...

Makes you proud to be a Roosters fan.

Reading between the lines $15m project, 3 investors being the government, AFL and Roosters and all 3 put in matching investments that's a $5m investment from the club?

Massive if true, would love it if they hosted games over there before first grade and improve the pubs/restaurants offering around there. Make for a good day out.

          Good stuff.

On a matter related to the womens game, I think the retirement announcement from Sammy Bremner went a bit unnoticed.

Still regard her as the best in the business, and it was a privilege to see her run around in our colours.

you're either a bunch of virtue signallers pretending to care, or a bunch of soyjacked male feminists who actually care. Either way I find this disturbing.

So which one are you since you clearly care enough to read the thread and comment?

Oh look, an Andrew Tate worshipping incel.

This is great for the women's game. Congrats to the club for being pioneers once more in the development of the game.

none of the above. I realise womens RL is a joke and am here to mock the men that get excited over it.

Lol 15m dollars has been invested into women's sport. How is this a bad thing? But here you are acting like this is some feminist driven outrage.

I think it's awesome that women's sport is taking off as it affords girls the same opportunities as boys in aspiring to a career in sport.

Perhaps you'd rather they be confined to house chores?

Yes, God forbid women stop trying to be men, and get married and have kids and raise families.

                            Ok, Handmaid's Tale.

God forbid women do whatever the hell they damn want. As opposed to what you want them to do.

And on the 7th day, Chris created the infamous 'ignore' function. Some apparently see it as a sign of weakness to use it. That's an opinion, not fact. Some of us see it as very enlightened and great use of modern technology. It narrows the audience of those who deserve to have their wings clipped.

Freedom of Choice as Devo once sang..Thanks Chris for giving us options for the type of viewing experience we'd like to have.

Back on topic, this surely must be a world first for womens NRL facilities, or very close to it. So proud to follow a club who leads the way. Still breaking down barriers.. since 1908..
