Toops last year?

I've said it before that I think Toops is one of the few in the squad that gets to call his shots completely. We will get the cap relief from the NRL to retain him so I think he would be able to fit into the cap on rolling 1 year deals given he is still a vital member of the team. I can see him re-signing for 1 more season and then maybe moving over to the ESL in 2025.
He has never struck me as a money-hungry player but wouldn't begrudge him leaving end of this year to get a huge deal to score tries for fun in England for a couple years until he retires.
Either way, the bloke is an absolute legend and one of the finest outside backs to pull on the RWB.

He pretty much played as good as he ever has last year. No reason for him to consider leaving. He is held in such high esteem by the club, there is no way he would be forced out. Young is going to play on the right, as both Allan & Paulo were only signed on 1 year deals as stop gap measures. I've seen Murphy play both sides of the field, but he can bide his time (IF we actually sign him) for as long as Toops wants to play as far as I'm concerned.

I can't see him going to another NRL club. In which case a year or two of Super League might be more attractive for him, and that might be the most attractive option (rather than staying put) if he feels his body is one the wane.
The concern with Toops is his body type.
Bloke is going to start getting very prone to back, knee, ankle, achillies issues from here on.
And his age and build it's going to be hard to come back strong from those (or at all) if they are serious.
I do not put much stock in what 'The Mole' says most of the time. But this educated guess is possibly on the money.
