No question Hutch is a champion bloke who gives 100%, and was a star as a junior.... but he must have lost some pace somewhere along the line. I know he had some major injuries.
he turns 28 this year with 52 NRL games under his belt, who knows..... he might be a late bloomer,
let's hope so, but whatever happens he can say he played first grade with the Roosters, and that's something.

Everyone getting soft. Hutch sucks! He has no place in our side. If we were picking it based off good character and nice guys, we'd have a few charity workers in the side aswell.

Hutch can stay at the club as the Bears half. He doesn't belong anywhere near the 17 and it's a crime he has played that many games for us at such a poor level. Barring the 2021 injury hit season where he was outstanding as a BACK-UP HALF. I reiterate a BACK-UP HALF. He has no other role in the side unless 4 or 5 guys go down again. Using him in the same sentence as Mitch Aubusson is a major insult to Aubs. He has no utility value. Everyone can see it but Robbo.

I see him getting moved to the centres this week with Allan 18th man and Turps to the bench. I won't whinge too much about that because I don't want Corey Allan to play either, he is even worse because he doesn't have the same good sentiment as Hutcho. Will never forget him passing AJ the ball after he'd already gone over the try line in the 60-8.

            - better than Hutch you said earlier - Ring (02) 9386 3200 and ask to be put through to Robbo so he can sign you up - one figures though your standard as a player must not be very good as well someone would have signed you up by now

Read the quote again. I said better cardio and conditioning performance than Hutch, which i'll stand by. I don't look like I'm running through immense pain after 2 mins like Hutcho does. I'm sure he'd run rings around me with footy skill but if he needs my help, use your connections and get Hutch onto me and I'll put him on a running program that lets him play longer than 5 mins a game.

What exactly does he fix? It's not the defence - he gets beaten on the outside all the time. It's not the attack - they know he's going to pass and if he doesn't they know he's slow enough to turn and chase. His long kicking game is okay and he's from all reports and observations a lovely bloke.

Hutch is a solid clubman. I don't understand the hate.

When they run around him for the third time on Sunday maybe you will see why people don't want him playing first grade ( different to hate - no even close). When the defence reads every play like it's a learn to read book because he's just off the pace in even the catch and pass and we don't look like we know how to score a point - Hutch is your man.

Love him to prove me wrong but let's be real here - he adds very little.

Well I disagree and so does Trent Robinson. Lets see how he goes.

                          Yeah, it's an interesting question.

I do admire the Hutch. I never question his commitment and hustle. Like many I was hoping he could evolve into a Maubs mk2, but appears unlikely to happen.

In his younger days he was regarded as a next big thing for a little while.

Doesn't always pan out that way. Some players acquire either physical or mental deficiencies that put a cap on what they achieve on the field in 1st grade.

Hutch's body has let him down unfortunately for him. Just too slow.....not big enough to be a really good forward, too big and slow to be a really good half, to slow to be a centre.

I say he needs to stack on an extra 5 kg, fix up his defence a bit, and move into the second row permanently as a ball playing 11 or 12 (if not with us, someone else). That's his future. It isn't as a permanent half unfortunately for Hutch.....he is just a bit too behind the pace of the competition.

Who knows, maybe i'm talking shit and he will have an absolute ripper of a season and prove all wrong. Unlikely, but hopefully.

Sure I hope you can say I'm wrong because of the performance he puts in. Don't get me wrong I would love to see him do well and I'll be the first to recognise a good performance by him.

                                Smith/Turpin with Hutch at centre.
