It always feels like we work harder for our dominant periods and get given nothing so have to dig deep. However, this is (of course) because I'm emotionally invested in Easts. Whereas I just assumed the others were gonna win (which to be fair, most assume of Easts).

My only criticism of Pemriff is that they seem to over-celebrate and all be church friends from some local happy clappy joint so their shyte can p!ss me off. Pretty sure I'd be loving that kinda hate coming my way if I was a Pemriff fan though so they play for the crowd.

The above said, a lot of commentators are saying 'I hate Easts but I love the players as they're all awesome people'. IMO there's a bit of class in the way we hold ourselves that the westies will always be lacking.
Yes those were the ones I was thinking of when I made my above post..I remember one Sunday afternoon, I vacuumed my shop floor rather than watch Brisbane v St George in 2010. I don't watch other club games anyway as it cuts into my weekend too much. I'm only invested in Easts these days.

Maybe the loss to St Helens wasn't an aberration after all,
      Panthers looked fairly ordinary
broncos top 4 side this year.
Great pick up for Dolphins in snagging Herbie for 2024.

Regardless, I'm still wanting a Roosters-Panthers GF, with Hutchinson making a try saving tackle over the sideline, to win the game for the Roosters. that tackle then immortilised into folklore.

They are going to miss Korisau a lot, but they’ll still be Top 4, most likely Top 2.

Us footy fans are so fickle. They lose they can’t win the comp. They win they will win the comp. Changes week to week.

You may be missing trew's point. He has made these early predictions in the past and has generally been close to the mark. I'm backing him.

Very, very hard to get 2 in a row much less threepeat in a tough, physical, professional contact sport. The history of the NRL and NFL proves this. Which makes Parras threepeat and our doubles in 74-75 and just recently extremely remarkable. Much easier to have dynasties in cricket, basketball, soccer or VFL or even amateurish rugby union.

I wish we had got Herbie and Fleg instead of Dom and Lenau..

I'd say it would be just as tough in AFL. Salary caps bite hard when teams have success.

I can’t see Penrith winning 3 in a row they have lost a couple of key players that would have won them that game last night if they were still there.
I know it’s early days but I’m going to go on the record & say the Broncos if they keep that side fit will be a top 5 side. That Broncos side is a top side IMO they have a top forward pack & strike in the backs, wait till Reece Walsh is at the back. Cobbo, Fairworth, Hass, Riki, Carrigan, Oats, Staggs, Mam, Reynolds & Capewell are top notch.

A big if. I'd say IF they get a few injuries they won't make the 8.

Since 2000, Brisbane and Hawthorn have got a hatrick and Richmond have won 3 in 4 years? It seems Geelong always win as well. VFL is a tough in the sense of endurance like Soccer and Tennis players, while NFL and NRL is more about collisions - both tough in their own way. But it seems the collision sports produce greater wear & tear on the body and mind, not unexpectedly.

Tennis players - they are tough and earn their keep. How about the Aussie open final a few years ago between Nadal & Djokevic? Nearly 7 hours and they had to play 6 matches in blistering heat in just 2 weeks before??? Not just physical toughness but mental toughness.

Capewell, the porn star? Well, he'll probably have another moment of glory(hole) before he retires.
