  • Painful watch and not many positives at all, especially given more guys out for next week. We seem to fall short in a lot of milestone games - weird when you considered Robbo has got the boys up for GFs with 3/3 record.

yes, but...the...we had all those superstars who retired.

today, we're trying to build a team like that again.

Robbo's record is 3 from 10, with probably the best squad in the NRL.

        • As usual, they send a player of ours off, or to the bin...helps our opposition every time.
          What was Egan binned for?
A gentle leg tackle like I see other teams doing all the time.

How many 6 agains were the Dolphins given?
          How many for us?

          • We needed someone to take control of the game and lead the charge

            kind of what Kaufusi did

from the moment he made those hits we were not in the game anymore.

Players have got to put their hands up for the rough stuff

We do not have the best squad in the NRL, not even close.
We did have in 13, 18, and 19...but those days are long gone...just a distant memory.
Our squad is ok, but every year gets further behind the competition...in size and skill.

                • LOD beats Egan...just the way it is in pro footy.
Kaufusi, ...(one of his tackles looked like an "excessive force from behind" tackle that Radley and Gus have been suspended for in the past)...beats Egan and others.
Sometimes NRL is like cage fighting without the cage.
I saw lots of rough stuff dished out to our players yesterday, some of it seemingly against the rules but not penalised.

but we do have a problem with not producing in round 1 and it would be nice to win a few

I think it's smart heads beat all and sundry. Smart. Calm, cool and calculated.

Cameron Smith made a million tackles but they were all controlled. He never threw himself into 110kg forwards like Adam Sandler in the Waterboy.

He was a ferocious winner. But controlled. Methodical. Death by a thousand paper cuts.

We however have middle forwards who launch themselves around like lunatics. Which is brave. But where's the long term plan? Cheese, Rads, Collins. All great players. But only useful when they're on the field.

We just need to totally all our approach to the game tbh. The speed of the game has changed everything and Robbo is yet to catch on.

                      Ball control is now king.

                        Exactly.
We try to play razzle dazzle footy at a million miles an hour, make it up as we go along...and more often than not make mistakes....hence our poor completion rates.
Oh, and our team doesn't seem to have much idea about defence.

                        • We lack leaders, we lack direction, we lack spirit, we lack mongrel. Bullied into submission from a bunch of average players coming into their last few seasons. Of course we’d be the side that gifts them their first win in their first ever game. They’ll struggle to win 2/3 more for the rest of the season. No accountability from anyone either. Robinson talks about the Roosters way, but I haven’t seen anything resembling that since 2019. The defence was a shambles. The attack was non existent. Add in consistent run of injuries we’ve had since our back to back, it’s looking like another long season.

We lack a general big time.
someone needs to step up, Keary is too quiet and Walker has had enough time in first grade now , he is no longer a rookie. Teddy is not a natural leader either , maybe joey manu could be handed more responsibility .
I do t know but it pretty obvious that the chioks look rudderless

Egan deserves what he gets -they haven't learnt from Collins' suspensions last year. And then Egan comes back on and one of the first tackles, he's third man in again at the knees.
Banning the third man in will be the only way these dunb***ks get the message.
Yep, saw the tackle today on kayo and it wasn’t as high as it looked sitting in the corner of the bus station end

Agree we need a general.. Keary is not a general he’s a runner and he is gun shy at the moment …. Walker is 20 years old… none of the great “generals” were “generals” at that age
