"How to beat the Roosters, run big players at Walker (and Keary) all game."
Walker (and Keary) cannot be expected to stop big muscular players near the line running at him at pace...like Dolphins no 18 did.
Express train versus dinky...dinky gets flattened.
Sam tries hard in defence but must be hidden, replaced in the line by bigger players the same size as the attackers.
    eg: Storm, Warriors, Broncos etc.
Nicholls scores tries against us...of course he does, he's huge, unstoppable close to the line.
Eels did it with their Paulo, ran him at angle thru the centres.

I remember like yesterday the 60-8 debacle night when Bennett had Burgess, Liam Knight, Nicholls and Kolamatingi run at Keary all night. He repeated this simple tactic multiple times when coaching Souffs. Yesterday was no different.

So we play him at fullback? Keary on the wing?

This was never going to be as easy as the pundits said. No excuses, congrats to the Dolphins. What happened from our side was what I feared, the same we saw in the pre-season; ill-discipline, lack of firepower up front (should have gone all-out to keep SST, IMO), weak down the middle in defence, and for all the hype and talk about 'star-studded', the same lack of creativity in attack. I've expressed my concerns at swapping Verrills for Smith, but hopefully he will get used to being back at hooker full-time soon. He did get a knock, so we should still give him some time.

You need to get Mrs Bondi Boy to write to Trent and advise him of this. Keary is brave and a tough defender for his size, but he is not built like Fittler, Daley, Lewis or even Cody Wanker. Same applies to Sam Walker. Cronk was small in height but built very wide. We have a dilemma.

Not to mention the hysteria around concussion. Notice the headgear Keary wore? It's on his mind...

Brandon copped plenty of head knocks at the storm, that was my biggest concern signing him, along with Victor, keary, Collins, the HIA department could be an ongoing issue all year.

Chook still around but posts infrequently. Must have mellowed out after B2B premierships.

                        It worked.
Dont think that tactic is exclusive to Bennett all teams do it even the Roosters.
What are you going to tell your big boppers not to run at the smallest guy in the opposition team?
Winning is everything so you need to run your biggest meanest toughest forwards at small halves.

                        • Don't think Raaaay is the type to concede defeat.

He stood by his criticism of our 2018 team unwaveringly (for God knows what reason - if winning a premiership by flogging the Storm in a grand final isn't something to celebrate, then that's pretty damn sad.)

He'll come back to this thread to double down, probably making an appearance whenever we lose a game and being conspicuously absent whenever we win a game.

keep it up, the players and coach clearly read your stuff Coggy.
