Flanagan - Flanagan only won the comp once but the Sharks were never that strong, from memory they were underdogs in the grand final he did win. With a team of stars who knows?

Hasler - Don't know if he's better than Robbo but 2 premierships in the NRL era and was the runner up in 2 others. His last stint at Manly has been his worse run but even then you could probably make the argument that if Trbojevic hadn't had so many issues injury wise he would've been more successful. I'd say with our squad he'd have just as much success as Robbo.

Maguire - He was pretty successful at Souths and it was a strong team when he was there much like the Roosters are now, his only failure is the rebuild of the Tigers but even Tim Sheens is going to struggle with that for at least this year.

McGregor - The Dragons sides from 2014-2020 left a lot to be desired, within a team of stars like ours who knows? I do think he's better suited to be an assistant coach like his mate Trent though.

    ---

Out of the list above if I was starting a club tomorrow I would think Hasler would be the most attractive option as a head coach out of everyone you've listed. 17 years coaching experience, premierships, winning percentage everywhere he's gone except his latest Manly stint, he'd be my guy.

I'd still take Robbo over him at the Roosters though.
I agree with your summary there.

Dessy is a legend in my books although I think his best days of coaching are behind him. That being said, that Manly side he had were farrrking awful without Turbo. That is what happens when you tie your salary cap up to retain 3 players (Turbo boys and DCE), you need to fill in the rest with journeyman, over the hill players or complete nobodies. I reckon their squad outside of the 3 I named would struggle to make Top 4 in NSW Cup let alone NRL so I don't think its a huge blight on Des' resume. That being said, he wouldn't fit the Roosters and usually leaves a path of destruction wherever he goes.

IMO we don't have the roster we have without Robbo and the culture he has developed. It must be very attractive to potential recruits. Robbo is way better than the bums being mentioned.

Robinson has done well to win 3 comps but everyone gets stale when they're in the same job for too long. French rugby league are calling you Trent. The time is right.
Yeah nah... IMO we learned from the Doggies/Manly/Brisbane constantly sacking their respective coaches. Lotsa teams will sack the coach because they're doing shyte and then do even worse as a result. That'd be us!

There's no better options out there right now anyway.

No wonder Roosters Supporters are known as being a fickle bunch - one loss and the knives are out already

There's some here on here that seem to take more pleasure from a loss then they do a win

Do you really believe people's reactions are to just this one loss .Or maybe it could actually be the many losses and severe thumpings we have had in the last few years . Surely you can't believe that most are calling for Robbos head when they are really only asking for change of tactics .Better recruitment . Different training regime that may prevent some of the of field injuries. Surely you and others can't be that silly to think that some believe that simply swapping one coach for another is the answer.I know I don't think that and never said that but we have been absolute crap since 2019 for one reason or another and Robbo as the head coach is like the CEO of said company and the buck stops with him .He is responsible and needs to make changes to fix it or simply step aside and appoint someone that can .This isn't a game it's a business and requires continued success and not past glories .

                        After a loss is basically...

                        - Sack the cooooach!!!

                        - Sack the captaaaaain!!!

                        - Sack 90% of the team in favour of junior/fringe players.

                        - There are no excuses for a loss. I'm p!ssed and am gonna sledge anybody who suggests there's a positive way forward from here that doesn't involve sacking everybody!!!!

                        - Injuries and exclusions are NEVER useful to factor into discussions about a reault. The fact we were without JWH, Crichton, Manu, Watson, Sitili...etc (and then Lodge, Cheese, Radley & Egan for large parts) is irrelevant because we are shyte. Nooope... no excuses (aka context)!!! STOP!!! We were shyte and will lose the comp unless we sack the coach and everybody who played.

                        - Eff everybody who isn't super angry about a footy game!!! You're all delusional freaks!!!

The thing is Jaxx many do it after each loss FTR I thought Sunday was an embarassment and the only positive out of the match ( if you can call this one ) was Tupou getting one try closer to Minis record If Sundays efforts are regular Tupou potentially breaking the record might be the one thing we have to get excited about

                            • The only excuse I ever use for losing in injures. If JWH, Manu, Angus, Watson and Sitili were all playing there’s no way we lose to rubbish Dolphins.
