Yep. He didn't really see any ball in attack in the centres and his defence was absolutely abysmal. Maybe have him return to the wing spot. Cannot believe I'm saying this but Hutch might be a good option there for a while given he's unlikely to lose you a game. Unless he gets the ball and makes a break in the last 5mins of a game. Would be like running in quicksand.

Willing to forgive the first outting where we were dominated. Suspect he’ll grow into the role, also difficult defending when the backrower isn’t rock steady.

Manu took years to be as good as he is, even now I wouldn’t say he’s a defensive centre. Suspect Joe will flourish in the position this season, once he gets some space

Now for a long term deal …
What a champ!!! Sometimes hard to see it when we're losing but he nailed a heap of guys on the weekend and scored a great try.

I notice Teddy's metres are down. Wonder if this is part of a conscious plan to give Sua'ali'i and Manu a bit more freedom.

Agree Ism….I thought JS had a great game, put on BETTER hits than kuthullu did, but didn’t get any acknowledgment for them as the drizzle hasbeen did.
We WILL win the comp this year, IF we can just get over this bloody injury hoodoo and get some troops back and get some combinations firing.

I thought Eagan’s decision making in defense contributed to the overlaps on our left side. Once Manu is back and create a bit more havoc down the middle, JS will probably get more ball in space and we’ll see what he’s capable of.

On a side not,I just read Lewis Murphy suffered an ACL injury for Wakefield Trinity..

I wonder if we signed him or just media beat up?

I've heard that he backed off the Souths deal because he only wants next year, while the other mob insisted on the extra year or no deal. Joe obviously calls the shots and must be keeping his options open for potentially something different. Otherwise he would have signed a 3 or 4 year contract.

You think there was an actual offer when it was positioned as back up if Latrell didn’t stay on? I doubt it got far, if at all.

Joey is young, there’s no doubt his manager wants him renegotiating every couple of years and not locking in his value.

Yeah same as sonny bill but the both of them really like playing for the club and robbo and nick i reckon easts will be the only rugby league club he plays for but i wouldn't be surprised if he jumps ship to the rah rahs for the world cup hope I'm wrong about the switch to union,

The Souths offer doesn't make a lot of sense to me as it was extremely unlikely that Latrell was ever leaving and Campbell Graham is a very good right centre so they would have 900k a year tied up for a bloke waiting behind Latrell who is 25 and made it clear he wants to play fullback.

He's going to Rugby Union for 2025 British Lions tour and 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia
