We will be lucky to be competitive today. Like Thirteen said in the first few posts, It all depends on the younger and fringe players showing they can handle first grade. If they don’t we will get toasted by a mediocre team for a second week. Coming into this season and the Dolphins game
i couldn’t see how a lot of people thought we were contenders. We have no depth, the timing of our forward transition from our good 2018-2020 pack has not worked and we are seriously weak up front as a result. No matter how good your backline is (and parts of ours is piss weak) you won’t make the eight if your forwards get beaten each week. Hopefully this year we can get our act together with our roster.

Forwards and backs need to be good.
      Defence needs to improve
All parts of our game are shit.
NEXT WEEK is going to be horrible.
      Condensed it for you

Plus we have 6 forwards who will probably sit out more games than they play this season.

          JWH - Aging body, suspensions
          Radley - Head knocks, suspensions
Collins - Head knocks, injuries, suspensions, origin
          Sitili - Knee
          Watson - Knee
          Angus - Mental illness

This year we will be seeing a lot of Whyte, Wong, May, Baker and even Thomas.

What the hell happened to Momo? Maybe we can swap him for a first grade forward somehow.

Gotta be the first time in my living memory that I'm considering our pack and forward bench as the worst pack in the comp for this week.

Not even St Merge's fans would swap their pack for ours this week. Jack Bird and Jaydn Su'a are good players...

About 200 people sitting in GA, members, and on eastern side, can't see western side season ticket section.
Hopefully more fans will arrive before kickoff.

Yeah but then the call will be its only Rd3 then 4 then 5 then 6 then 7 then 8...etc..

Just need them to show up & have a decent dig like a proper 1st grade team. These early season losses to average teams like last year come back to haunt.

If our spare parts forwards can hold their own then our backs should be too classy.

These guys can't hold the ball either.

It's a disease running through the club.

Is there a vaccine for it?

We're solid when we have JWH, Lodge, Collins, Crichton, Watson and Sitili available. Alas, we do not right now.

IMO most of these (including Rads) are probably welfare exclusions and we're playing the long game. Unfortunate but as fans it's be great if people could show some farking patience rather than shyting on us when we're doing it tough.

Our forwards still contain Collins, Smith, Butcher (a future Origin leader IMO) and some up and coming guns who will only get better with experience (e.g. May and Whyte). In addition, our backline is the best in the comp... if not the farking world TBH (which country has a better backline?)

Part of the fun of watching footy is seeing us evolve. Sure it s*x losing, particularly when you KNOW we have the better roster on our books (often one we cannot use due to injuries and all). Be patient though... we WILL come good. And if we don't, then be a fan rather than a hater.

We stand too flat in attack which makes handling errors appear too often. I watched the Penrith game and noticed how their attacking formation stands deeper than ours, which gives them better ball control and a bit more pace and momentum when they reach the defensive line.
