  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Warriors

Today we start fresh. We have the opportunity to put last week behind us and get our season started. We don’t want to be missing out on a good ladder position because we lost too many early season games we should have won. Let’s learn a lesson from last week’s performance and use this lesson to play well today and represent our club with pride.

C’mon Roosters no more of that BS you dished up last week. We don’t want to see any more of that crap. Fire up!

    GO ROOSTERS!

If Bunty outplays our forwards I will write this team off

Well done for getting in there nice and early mate! I'm about to do a 20km beach run so that I'm all chill before the 3pm game. Everybody else is still asleep so I've got time...etc which is weeeird as my son's usually up bouncing around the house at this hour. The beach is magical like that I guess!

Honestly dunno what to expect, but I think Mase and Horo with their new spin-off show said it best. It's gonna be tough with so many forwards out.

I have no expectations. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst I guess. Fingers crossed Manu has a blinder, without a decent pack he may be our only hope.

Have a great day and enjoy your run.

After last week and with more injuries I feel that attending the game today is more of a work commitment than a recreational activity. I’m still so disappointed about last weeks performance and the further injuries we copped.

I’m sure by the time I get to the stadium with my kids I would have pumped up but at the moment going this afternoon feels like a chore.

I hope the young forwards go well and show that they are not out of their depth. I don’t expect them to set up tries on anything like that. I just want to see solid first grade standard performances that will give us confidence that they can handle the NRL. Hard running, good defence and defensive decisions, no stupid penalties and no dropped balls. Reminds me of the line from The Castle, “Tell him he’s Dreamin”.

Our hardest running forward today could be Toops and Swarleehe.

I've been awake for hours. Last time we played the Warriors, I fell asleep and we won..here's hoping I'll do the same and we get the same outcome..I'm watching 80 For Brady (about 4 ladies going off to watch Tom Brady in the Superbowl when he played for the Pats)..all that red, white & blue is making me happy..they have their game day superstitions too..

Stay out of the sun everyone if you are going and enjoy the afternoon.. It would be nice for those going to witness a great win..

I do have some work to catch up on and was planning to do that over trying to stream the game..I think I'll just listen on the radio whilst I do just that.

A simple game plan is required for our young, inexperienced and average ability forwards. All this Roosters Footy BS stuffs with their heads. If our guru coach could get them to run hard, tackle hard, hold the ball and get quick play the balls then we might have a chance. Leave winning the game to our supposed stars, Keary, Walker, Teddy, Sooalee, Manu, Smith...... over $5 MILLION bucks worth of supposed footy genius there...... not worth shiit if your grunts can't hold the ball, run the ball and play the ball and tackle..

On trial and Rd 1 form we have to be underdogs for this game.
This, and next week's games will make or break the careers of:
                      . E Butcher
                      . May
                      . Whyte
                      . Turpin
                      . Paulo
                      . Baker

They have a big chance to shine today...win or lose.

100% correct Mate. Robbo looks like a fool with his “Roosters footy” BS.

Happy game day everyone It is a beautiful sunny day outside. So will find a nice spot in the sun on a beautiful Eastern Suburbs to watch the game from.

I just want us to get to the money end so we can score some points. Good early possession. None of this drop ball tackle yourself into submission in the first 20 mins and then too buggered to do anything else. A few years back we were scoring more long range tries than anyone. Now if we don’t get a six again or a penalty we just ply between the two 20 yard lines.

                            C’mon fire up cookies

We need to play with outside back pace like the pamferrs and run the worriers into the ground.

We cannot expect to win by playing one out ruck dominance. We do not have the size to win a forwards battle today.

We need to keep what big boys we do have fresh for defence.

The pamfers 21/22 model has been based similar to how we played in 18/19 with the backs doing alot of yardage work while the forwards rested.

                              FIRE UP BACKS!
